I love that other actor. He was phenomenal in Bloodline.

Looks like it might show the dark side of gambling and hopefully will not have so BS Hollywood ending so might be good if it's an honest depiction of gambling addiction (which seems like main character has it.)

Will definitely keep an eye out for it.

I thought the same thing when I saw it. Love California Split.

Last scene: George Segal's character says, "I'm going home." Elliot Gould looks at him wearily and says, "oh yeah, where's that?"

Looks good to me, Mendelsohn's character is awfully Worm-like

I hope this movie is good. There are so many bad movies that are in theaters and I would like to have one that is watchable. I have a feeling that I will like this but trailers can be very deceiving. I have seen so many movies that I thought would have been good based on the trailers and then I was surprised. Not in a good way though.

8.2 rating on IMDB. That's extremely good (for anyone unfamiliar).

I'd love to see a remake of California Split minus the infuriating Robert Altman sound editing.

Look at the poster for California split and look at the poster for Mississippi grind. Then watch both trailers. This IS the remake. Looks great.

Seems like one of those movies where in the end we find out Reynold's character is a delusion of Mendelsohn's character. Still will watch though

Then I'll be disappointed if there isn't a scene where an old lady jinx-breaks a hot craps table by betting $3 on Don't Pass.

Only 151 votes right now, I'd say that's not nearly enough for the rating to be relevant unfortunately.

California Split and Mississippi Grind both sound like sexual acts.

We just watched this via DTV. Great performance by Ben Mendelson as well as a good feel for the local/seedy side of gambling (although I could never figure out if he was playing cash or tournaments), but I never really understood the Ryan Reynolds character or the relationship between the two leads, though I don't think it was entirely Reynolds' fault. Anyway, worth seeing but ultimately left me a little cold.

ya mendelson was great as always.
story and script left alot to be desired.

never really get a reason to give a **** about what happens to any of them and ryan reynolds character in particular is totally devoid of any development or backstory.

the ending was also pretty awful.

if it wasn't for the fact that mendelson is so damn good film would've been terrible.
like if u just read the script you'd never want to watch the film.
