Were you brave enough to play $2/$4 at any point? I did for a few hands but couldn't stomach the thought of a $9 rake even though it really doesn't differ from $2.25 at $.50/$1.

No, I did all my play at quarters but I had to assume play will be the same.

I bet one river on a board of KK865 and got two calls from people playing the board. It overplays a lot of hands in spots and is almost certainly capping when it raises at any point. It plays some hands insanely passive for no reason and checks back river with top pair, trips, and sometimes non nut full houses.

25% rake up to 2.25 bets is obscene though. I think they did a good job of deciding how much rake to do.

The button moves. The preflop action starts to left of button. There are a couple of reasons I see this.

If it was only blinds then a player would have some hands where he got dealt cards but put nothing into action. It induces some action because the pot is bigger preflop. Another is that you can't vulture the machine and only play free hands up to the blinds after people leave.

There were a lot of hands that really sucked where the flop aggressor squeezed you between another guy in the hand where the other guy bet something awful and top pair or better c/r jam you. That's just the way they play but it definitely looks like collusion.

yeah. i played for an hour and a half and played at least ten hands that would have immediately suspecting collusion if i ever saw them live. seems like your average joe whi wants to play at those limits is going to feel its not a 6 player game but a 1v5

I learned that if the pot got jammed I better have a monster. One bot in this scenario almost always had the nuts or very close to it, especially if there were some scare scenarios like 4 flush/straight.

Of course, the other bot would have the top pair he flopped with no kicker but he would have been firing away even if his buddy wasn't sitting on the nuts. The bots seemed to lack an understanding of scary boards and what to do when they don't improve into them.

the bot seems to lack just basic poker skill. the best advice ive seen anyone post is just dont bluff. ever. because it will just overcall or call multiple bets with 8 high like its job depends on it.

seriously, who ever programmed this should be ashamed to put their name near it. im guessing that even with a 9 unit rake its still beatable, but not worth anyones time for 2-4

i mean its pretty fun, but i think things like tge ****ty interface, bonus bet hijinx, "cheating", and random location mean it wont be around much longer than the 2+2ers curiosity over it

They probably programmed it to play badly on purpose. Otherwise nobody would have any kind of chance, trying to beat 5 players. I know you're not really playing to beat 5 players, but with the rake, plus having to ante every hand, you have to win a lot more than your share of hands just to break even.

seems likely that it could easily have been a strategic decision to make the bot play so badly.

people have a much easier time recognizing differences in AI skill than the difference between rake structures and it's relative impact.

Seems more likely the rake is so high because the bot is so bad. They way it plays now the bad play just makes it look like team play and will make people think they're being cheated

I found that while researching the article. There is also an IGT promotional pdf. Neither shows how to get in touch with the game inventor.

I went to look for a link to the IGT promo manual I discovered while researching and it is now a 404 error. It was there just a few days ago. That is odd timing. The Google cache for the IGT promo pdf is here.
