Player then says “thanks dealer for flashing me *names my cards*”

They both chuckle and she says “it doesn’t matter, he can’t hear me anyway” (I have headphones on)

I’m more dumbfounded than anything...causing a scene here isn’t going to do anything, so I wait until break to tell a floor about what happened.

I’m quite easygoing at the table but if a dealer fake-flashed my cards and someone named them, I’d politely ask for the floor in one second.

If she "fake flashed" them how did the other player see them?

She was attempting to fake flash them but clearly flashed them if my opponent could name them.

I wouldn’t wait for the break next time you’re unhappy with smth a dealer does, just call the floor immediately. I’ve seen dealers pulled out of the box on two seperate occasions at Caesars properties for being inept after players complained during their down. Once was at the Rio during wsop. If the infraction is severe enough they put another dealer in there or a floor fills in until the next push.

Flashing a mucked hand is totally out of line.

This one is similar to the old golf caddy story. He is well known for being the best spotter on the course.

So a long ball hitter hires him and hits his first tee shot a long way into the rough and asks the caddy if he saw it. "Of course", the old guy says, "I saw it all the way". As they are walking up the fairway the golfer asks where the ball is and the old guy answers, "I can't remember".

This is easy to agree with.

Had one in O8 game two weeks ago. Got called for another game while pot was getting chopped, got up to talk to floor, then thought I might want to double check things were right. Thought split got mispayed after this guy was obviously super lost the entire down. Told dealer to either repay or check cameras, then a dude that actually knew what was going on said it was only off by $5.

I say whatever, make the rounds and decide not to take other game, tell floor. Come back and dealer is fuming.

"Call the camera, this guy just reported me and said I messed up, *points at me* I'm not gonna let you get me fired, I can't lose this job."

"Dude, I just told them I didn't want the mix."

The dude criss-crossed his arms while paying the split and couldn't figure out why I was upset.

It's ridiculous the amount of troll posts to you in this thread. Actually though it's not surprising. This forum I guess at 1 time was the go to place for these kinds of discussions but in recent years it's the complete opposite. I think you brought up valid and concerning points regarding a very poor and unprofessional dealer. And you spent a lot of money, $2500. Unfortunately you won't get much sympathy here because the trolls have come out to play. You should have found a manager and lodged a complaint. And maybe get that lady documented through their procedures. Sorry that happened to you. But ignore the stupid responses. Not worth getting upset over.

I think the old lady's pretty funny, tbh.

I'll summarize:

1) The old lady is funny as hell.
2) Her humor would be more appropriate in a $65 daily tournament than in a $2500 WSOP bracelet event
3) Even pretending to flash cards is never funny or appropriate, precisely because you could accidentally expose them for real which seems to be what happened here
4) The OP handled the situation perfectly by quietly approaching the floor about it rather than causing a scene at the table, and for this he should be applauded
5) The OP wearing headphones is completely irrelevant

Maybe he did not actually see the cards. He could have just guessed them right. Have you thought of widening/balancing your range?
