Would be great news, but how reliable is this site? Has any official announcement been made to back up that a shared pool will be active before this years WSOP?

None yet. There are very likely logistical issues that need to be completed before the pooled site knows when it will go live. As a Delaware resident, I'm hoping for the May start date, but wouldn't be surprised if it happens a bit later.

In a separate article, they report that the newly released working regulations for PA include a provision that the game servers may be located in a different state, which would make PA compatible for joining the multistate pool and Delaware's Multistate Internet Gaming Association after they get up and running.

Well that seems very promising then. I used to grind the NJ sites and am about to move out to vegas, so it would be great if the combined pool was really just a few months away.

But I guess until something is definitive I'll hold off on celebrations.

I don't remember the source but one of the sites was talking about how the huge speed bump is that NJ required gaming servers be physically located in NJ. This was a while ago and could be some whatever BS but it's what I read. So may or may not be applicable or true. I'd love to be able to play on a US site as a DE resident with other US players on a legit site.

Here's hoping we get to play together soon guys!! The current DE player pool is not that bad I guess at peak hours but also crap at off hours.

What area do you live? I'm around the Newark area, I'm guessing we are less then an hour drive apart lol, such a tiny state.

OPR is a great resource for US regulatory news. However, in this case, from what I can read, the latest article only presents this "new" information:

Given the appetite from regulators and some educated guessing on our end, it does seem possible that a combined NJ/NV product could be ready in time for this summer.
There has been no official announcement and, as noted here, the source for their assumption is simply an educated case that it is feasible to happen this summer.

Pretty sure they spoke with Bill Rini, who runs the WSOP online. It would certainly make sense they would want the 3 state pool operational before the World Series begins, since it would beef up online qualifiers and the online bracelet events. Still, it doesn't mean they'll be able to make it happen by the end of May.

Some questions answered here:

Looks like HUDs will be disabled in NJ to account for the fact that they are not allowed in NV.

Quote:
Why Can’t I Use My HUD?
Unfortunately, HUDs (Heads-Up Displays) were an issue where there were no good solutions that would satisfy everyone.

Nevada expressly prohibits them, and New Jersey has no specific policy.

Continuing to prevent HUDs in Nevada and allowing them in New Jersey was deemed unfair to Nevada players, so the only option that would give a level playing field to all players was to prohibit them in both Nevada and New Jersey.

Players can always review their hands in the client and request specific hand histories from Customer Support.

lmao so instead of NV realizing that a No HUD policy is completely ******ed in 2018 and changing it, they instead force that policy onto NJ WSOP as well.

the idealistic doubling of WSOP traffic doesn't seem nearly a large enough positive to me to offset the loss of HUDs...

So now after May 1st there will be new WSOP in NV and 888 site in NV. 2 Completely different poker sites? But both owned by Caeasar's?

I believe you're being shortsighted.

It's more important to get Intrastate play live and going, than to delay it because of the no HUD rule in NV. NV gaming law would need to be changed. Who knows how long that would take.

No huds is fantastic as long as they find a way to enforce not scraping the tables... learn to pay attention, it will be ok.

This is fantastic news for US poker players.

Anyone care to speculate how long before this sparks a larger scale adoption by other states?

I would think with Pennsylvania on course to get going before the end of the year, some time next year they'd be expected to join the multi-state internet gaming pact with the other three states.

As a DE resident, I'm ecstatic, but also disappointed that because our state lottery runs our site with 888, we won't have access to the WSOP-specific events like the four bracelet events this summer.

Only hiccup could be server and location issues that could set this back but I know the target date is MAY 1ST
Edit====
Just 4 online bracelets

big push this summer with guarantees, deposit bonus...etc. Everyone will have to get a new account. Setting up a cage in lambada room to handle the additional volume.
Do you believe me now?
