I don't know anything about this Choice Center thing, but not everything is a matter of someone being weak or strong or better or worse than you. Some people have very strong wills, but they need to be pointed in the right direction.

^^ Sorry, I changed and then deleted that post you meant.

I said I think that he is mentally weak, but I did not compare myself to him at all.
Why join that cult and then say that he suddenly became No 1 GPI-list, in the next sentence?
It's a bunch of advertising he's very likely getting paid for by that cult, as well as the highrollers, where he fires multiple bullets that get paid by PS.

I am not wanted to have a discussion about it now. I just stated my opinion, decided to preferably delete it, but saw that Egarrett answered, so said what i deleted....

Daniel is dumber than he looked to be.
Not that he appeared as someone particularly smart but still ...

I seem to recall Daniel being really into Jesus and testifying in his blog a few years ago that his focus on religion allowed him to reach some of his poker goals - looks like he found a new church!

Whatever people want to stuff their brain with that makes them feel successfull who cares? If DN thinks that in order to win in poker you need to be positive and not think negatively than let him. It just seems like people fill their heads with all this weird **** and never actually give them any credit for working hard. If somebody believes this is a tool for success, why does it bother people so much?

That's what happens you get close to 40, have no family, and no real goal irl. Playing cards to make money and then what ? So you need something to give a meaning to your life. People turn to religions or cults, others turn to politics etc... DN seems to be one of those guys who are more into cults and the more you'll tell him that this ChoiceCenter BS is nothing but a scam, the more he'll believe that you're just a hater and that he's in the right.

It's probably a form of therapy for him. Sounds v New-agey, and it might work for him, the choice centre gurus big him up, tell him how to think, give him confidence and this gives him a clearer head while at the table as he remains in a positive state of mind. Just because it works for him doesn't mean it would work for others. Just like scientology has worked for T Cruise and W Smith but has been a nightmare for others.

The last pokercast interview showed him in a very bad light bro. He talked about wsop like he was the decider of what bracelets are legit and what bracelet are not bro. Just like Phil Helmuth bro. Screw this and that person for not thinking like me btw bro. I'm a sharpshooter bro.

He also used the term 'I feel very clear' when talking about his state of mind, Clear is a scientology and dianetics centerpiece term.

To get clear is the reason scientology ask you for money, to clear your mind through dianetics. Seems other Kults have taken the same route. Maybe they do a discount on the 128k it cost in scientology. 60k seems like a reasonable amount to get cleared.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_%28Scientology%29

Clear in Dianetics and Scientology is one of two levels a practitioner can achieve on the way to personal salvation. A state of Clear is reached when a person becomes free of the influence of engrams, unwanted emotions or painful traumas not readily available to the conscious mind. Scientologists believe that human beings accumulate anxieties, psychosomatic illnesses, and aberration due to receiving engrams throughout their lives. By applying dianetics, every single person can reach Clear.[1]

A person is said to be a Clear when he "no longer has his own reactive mind and therefore suffers none of the ill effects that the reactive mind can cause." A Clear is said to be "at cause over" (in control of) their "mental energy" (their thoughts), and able to think clearly even when faced with the very situation that in earlier times caused them difficulty. The next level of spiritual development is that of an Operating Thetan. A person who has not reached a state of Clear is called a "pre-clear."[2]

Dianetics states that a person's awareness is influenced by the stimulus-response of the reactive mind. Achieving the state of Clear means a person has overcome the reactive mind and is in complete control of their analytical mind. According to Hubbard: "A Clear is a being who no longer has his own reactive mind, and therefore suffers none of the ill effects the reactive mind can cause. The Clear has no engrams which, when restimulated, throw out the correctness of his computations by entering hidden and false data."[3] It is estimated that the cost of reaching the Clear state in Scientology is $128,000.[4]

Very humorous that he believes his multiple bullets in a 6 figure rebuy make him a top rated player of the year.

I think the hate comes from the average person being able to look at choice center and realizing it's a bunch of BS. Why do these people and friends have to charge you to get better? If you don't believe me I suggest you take a visit over to their website and take a look at their workshops. $3k for an entrepreneurial workshop? Because I'm sure they are at the top of the entrepreneurial field and have lots of inside information that would be worth the $3k. Oh you want VIP access? Sure just another $200 or we can put you on a monthly plan of $44. Relationship problems? Sure just fork over $600 and we'll get you fixed up right away. Whats that your wife wants to come? Sure just add $300.

Workshops aren't your cup of tea? No problem. We have great coaching options. How does $300-$750 per 30 mins sound with a 3 month minimum contract?

Now take all that and add to the fact that you have DN promoting this place at every opportunity he gets and you can see how easily people might not agree with him or it. Also if you think he is doing this just because he is a nice person and wants to help people you're foolish. He is obviously getting paid and I would speculate a good amount of money. If you google choice center do you think it's a coincidence that his blog is the 3rd thing to come up? Do you think it's a coincidence that he is on the front page of choice's website?

I recall Daniel also giving a good review for power bracelets, which is a thoroughly debunked scam, and iirc when confronted with evidence he said something like, "In my personal experience it worked so that's good enough for me." Can't find any sources on that though.

This seems very similar, because the reviews of CC are overwhelmingly saying it's a cult, it's got the worst rating at the BBB, and the only positive reviews I can find are from rich people that likely got special treatment in hopes that they'd give a good review. But since he perceives it as working for him - and maybe it does via the placebo effect - that's good enough for him and he ignores all the other evidence.

I think he was somewhat brainwashed at an early age and as a result never learned how to properly be skeptical of certain things. He probably also has a big ego and doesn't give enough weight to the possibility that he's been tricked, even though there's absolutely no doubt that he was tricked by the power bracelets.
