Really sucks that they're buy ins, and structure are alot more suitable for most regular mtt grinders, and heck even rec players that don't want to spend a ton in a shove fest at rio. Other than the bigger buy in rio tournaments the structures are awful and if you don't run good early you got no shot.

Having said that i really hate supporting this scumbag adelson. Truth be told he could care less either way im sure, as it's a drop in the bucket to him, but it's the principle. What do you guys think? Boycot or play deepstacks because the structures more grinder friendly?

The other idea (which I think I was the first one to suggest) was "Adelson offsets", similar to carbon offsets. If you do well in a game at the Venetian, just donate some % of your money to an anti-Adelson charity or cause. So do a little research and find out what cause Adelson would most hate for you to give your money to and donate a % of your winnings to it.

This is a perfect solution.

not playing in venetian events does nothing in the for of protest. just play whatever your bankroll allows for and whatever you have an edge in. dont listen to the dolts who say avoiding the venetian will somehow bring back online poker in america.

Do it if it makes you feel a little better to protest his crap. No harm in that, but the whole poker room could shut down today and he would barely miss it compared to the revenue the non poker games generate.

If every poker player boycotted Venetian poker room, Adelson would devote that space to table games or machines that make him more money. He wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

But philosophically, I agree with boycotting that guy.

compared to the pit and slots poker generates little revenue, poker tournaments and cash games lure players to the pit.

1.) If everyone boycotted the Venetian, they'd have no customers and that would matter...just because 1 person barely matters doesn't mean 100 don't matter a little. The competition and margins in the casino world are very small (at least the casinos that I almost invested in) and the fixed costs are quiet high...it wouldn't take losing even 20% of customers to put a lot of casinos out of business. (what I said doesn't apply to casinos with a huge unfair advantage...like indian casinos)

2.) If the poker room wasn't +EV for them overall, they would of shut it down by now. So by bashing it/hurting his rep/boycotting it it is going against what he "wished" would happen.

3.) I agree even if the poker room got shut down tomorrow adelson would still be a grade A douchebag with enough money to continue being a huge dickwad. But with so many other options in vegas, I'd rather give my money to someone else.

numerous ceo's have been quoted that vegas casinos arent making the majority of money with table games these days. if at all any. so i think poker is at least profitable. so i think the poker room is significant
