Naming, Proving, and Shaming a Clear Bot on Global Poker: TwainWide Naming, Proving, and Shaming a Clear Bot on Global Poker: TwainWide

05-07-2024 , 05:35 PM
This is the email I just sent to Global Poker support about TwainWide (a player who I'm sure Jackpot and Traditional sit-and-go players will be very familair with):

Quote:
I have played this player tens of times, and after researching his shark scope page, and watching his mannerisms and style of play, I have become so confident that this player is using some GTO solver / HUD / Bot software when they play that I have started unregistering from $5 jackpot spin-and-goes whenever I see that player is seated in my games.

In analyzing the Sharkscope, it appears that this player plays exclusively short-stack, low-player single-table tournaments (which would be consistent with what a low-level bot is able to solve for), never seems to use their time bank, acts very quickly, and plays countless games both in the course of their sessions. Because Sharkscope cannot track jackpot spin-and-goes, these numbers ONLY include the traditional sit-and-go games. Some days of note:
  • 3/30/21: 176 traditional sit-and-goes
  • 3/21/21: 160 traditional sit-and-goes
  • Between 3/20/21 and 3/31/21, the player played 1728 games of just traditional sit-and-goes.

If we assume that the player only slept for 48 total hours (4 hours a night) over this aforementioned 12 day period, and games were continuously running on the site for the stakes they play at all hours of the day (which I know they do not based on my experience of playing these exact games near this exact timeframe), then they managed to play a sit-and-go every 8 and a half minutes for all of the remaining 240 hours of their wake time, while profiting over 18% more per game ($0.32) than their average profit per game ($0.27). Again, this is only counting the games that Twainwide is playing in traditional sit-and-goes, and not any of the jackpot-sit-and-goes, during which you can find him littered all over the "recent winners" board across all stakes at all hours of the day.
This, clearly, is not possible. At least not for any human playing only within human means.

Further evidence:
  • Across TwainWide's 15,418 tracked tournaments played on Global, he has reached 0 Final Tables. This is only possible if the player has not ever once played a single MTT, despite a voracious volume of STT and SNGs. Knowing that Global occasionally gifts players free tournaments entries in their daily log in bonuses, I find it incredibly suspicious that a player who finishes in the money 38.5% of the time in his STTs has never once appeared to final table an MTT if he has played in one, which it is clear that he has not.
  • Across these 15,418 tracked STT's, the average field size is exactly 6. Therefore, it stands to reason that Twainwide has never once decided to attempt to play a 9-player STT, and clearly has never played an MTT. Knowing that the tructure of the 6-player MTT is that 33.3% of players finish in the money, we can extrapolate that Twainwide finishes in the money over 15% more often than the average runner, which is quite the achievement considering that these formats have small stacks and he plays many, many games at the same time.
  • Out of these 15,418 tracked tournaments, TwainWide's longest losing streak is only 19 games. Twainwide has never gone on tilt, nor has his internet connection has never appeared to have been seriously interrupted. Even by this measure, he can expect that a player who cashed 38.5% of tournaments will have a 60% chance of a 20-game losing streak and a 43% chance of a 21-game losing streak. Again, these numbers imply that there likely has never been a single instance of tilt or connectivity issues, as any instance would cause these likelihoods to rise, and TwainWide is already running ahead of EV on variance, both from the cards and how they are playing them.

Per Global Poker's terms of service (3.1h), "you will not be involved in any fraudulent, collusive, fixing or other unlawful activity in relation to your or third parties’ participation in any of the Games and you will not use any software-assisted methods or techniques (including but not limited to bots designed to play automatically) or hardware devices for your participation in any of the Games. We reserve the right to invalidate any participation in the event of such behavior."

Also, if TwainWide is in fact able to prove that he can play this volume of these stakes this well for this many hours of a day, I would like to know if he is actually playing from inside the United States (Terms of service 3.1b, 3.1d) without any sort of aiding software, as this amount of play cannot possibly allow for any employment whatsoever, nor is it enough to live off of for a person without any internet connectivity issues or variability of emotional state. I would expect that if Twainwide needed this money to survive, their internet or playing set up would occasionally crash.

I very much have enjoyed played on Global Poker and know the site's integrity is unquestionable. Out of the thousands of players that I have crossed paths with, this is the only player that I have ever suspected is a bot, and am reaching out as such.

All the best, and have a great day.
Bots suck and taking from all of us, report them.

It may very well be possible that he's a bot of some sort, but your so called evidence and conclusions are absolutely meaningless and borderline laughable.

How about we name and shame JMGill12 for groundless reports of bots?

Don't victim shame the OP. Read the email, he played against this player tens of times!

Lots of words for no real evidence

someone mass tabling the same extremely simple form of poker makes the same correct decisions all the time? no way!

The points you make may suggest a bot that warrants further investigation, but certainly doesn't provide conclusive evidence. 20 sngs per hour for 8 hours per day doesn't seem unreasonable. Whether it's worth the hourly at that stake would depend upon the individual's circumstances.

I suggest the mods take this thread down or redact the player name.

That's not the level of proof we're looking for here. Nothing wrong with emailing your suspicions to support and see how they respond though.
