I am going to need to read this stuff with a fresh pot of coffee.

I'm happy to see that UB is, once again, a trustworthy group. I look forward to playing at their site so I can donk off my money because I know that it's going to good charity causes. My mom would be proud of me.

Thanks UB! *Drinks the kool-aid*

You forgot to include the FBI and the RCMP!

Re: My retraction of certain statements made about UltimateBet and Joe Norton

nice work. i really appreciate all of you guys putting your neck on the line for online poker. to be honest, i really dislike the poker community as a whole--too many *******s, crooks, and scumbags. no one you can really trust but yourself. i mean, i have a dozen or two good friends, most of them i would trust with large sums of money for sure (and possibly my life), but in the end, we all have our own self interest come before everyone else's when **** hits the fan. as a result i really appreciate you posting this stuff because it needs to be said.

i don't think he's lookin' for an apology by any means. in fact i KNOW he's not because there's 0% chance he gets one. he knows that. i think he's just looking out for a community that has no one to look out for it. it's noble.

I think this is pretty much the crux of the case against AP and UB.

Re: My retraction of certain statements made about UltimateBet and Joe Norton

Did the letter from Chief Norton's lawyers explain how it was his company was formed more than six months after he claims to have purchased UB?

This is ridiculous - if I were the innocent owner of a poker company which had been ripped off by "prior management", as UB & its shills claim, I'd save my indignation for the thieves.

The fact that Norton's lawyers are chasing critics, rather than the guys he claims to have stolen money from him, reminds me of O.J. Simpson pledging to go after the "real" murderer.

Can you post a copy of the letter? Was it from an American firm, a Canadian one? Or perhaps some tribal lawyer who owes him a favor?

If they ever dared to sue for defamation, the discovery process would be interesting. . . Maybe we'd finally learn a bit about the UB/AP ownership & management structure.

Cheers, Carl.

This actually brings up two important things that I wanted to add:

1) I am under the impression that if you are under 25 that you are totally invincible... thats true right... right?

2) If any twoplustwoer is or knows a good pro bono slander defense lawyer please send me a PM. I think I have a pretty good case and I am pretty sure from watching steroid commentary on ESPN that people don't like to file suits for slander when they have a dirty past because the lawsuit could force them to open up their books during discovery. ESPN wouldn't steer me wrong would it?

3) I think I have a pretty good idea of what the Kahnawakes are capable of and that scares me. This is a group that brought the Canadian army to its knees in 1990. If I have angered anyone to the point of physical violence please just send me an email or give me a call to let me know that you are pissed off and that you plan on hurting me and I PROMISE to shut up. Seriously, you don't need to hurt me, just put a horse head on my pillow and I will stop talking.

Now, the next question. Do the Isle of Man and Alderney really have enforceable gaming regulations?

Why are online site not subjecting themselves to the jurisdiction of countries where online gaming is legal?

Perhaps it has to do with their ability to actually regulate....

I have posted about it before but from what I have learned the IoM is legit.

They have been a gambling authority for half a century, they are democratically elected, and they have a history of proactively protecting the players

Thanks for your kind comments.

This post was made because the fine lawyers at Lazarus, Charbonneau demanded that I make the post or face legal action. I do not expect anything out of making the posts other than to acquiesce to their threats against me.

Joe Norton opening himself up to ANY sort of discovery is improbable to say the least. Since truth is a complete defense to slander, they're not going near this one imo. (doesn't mean they wouldn't at least file the suit (30 mins for a junior attorney to do) to see where you're at and make ur life a PITA for a while.
