FWIW I decided to start an official "Thank you Tony Korfman" thread for those who have benefited from his generosity. I also thought it was appropriate to do so because the thread that introduced tk to this forum(and myself) noted an unfortunate situation that cast tk in a not-so-appealing light. Not a good 1st intro for a guy that seems like a good person IMHO. This incident happened some time ago, and has been recognized(by tk and others) as being an unfortunate, embarrassing, and a regretful place in time for tk. Having said that, his diligence in explaining the situation, admitting to his wrong doing, showing remorse for said situation, and his continued generosity he has displayed this past year is admirable IMHO. Despite a black cloud that may hover over him (some may think) as a result of an unfortunate situation, he has shown me a character I also can appreciate. I would be proud if I ever got the chance to associate with the old fart.
Anyway, I just thought this thread could serve as a platform for people to show appreciation to tk with out having to bump an unappealing title constantly (no offense to OP). After all, all is forgiven and forgotten in my book.
Speaking of book, I'll get to my thank you.
Thank you Tony Korfman for making me feel so good about doing something azz-backwards!! I am thankful that you strangling a kid at a poker tournament ( not really, it just happened to be the means by which I learned of you ) + someone wrote about it in a forum + old thread got bumped + I read it. Otherwise, I would have had to have heard about you from friends + visit your site + apply for a credit card + make a reluctant purchase on said credit card (i don't like making purchases online) + get raped by interest until said credit card purchase was paid off. You made it much easier, and for that I thank you.
I also thank you for putting a smile on my face when I told my mother what I just received in the mail from an old time poker pro. Her words were as follows.....
" I feel bad for the guy...he might not be able to afford all that shipping...I think you should at least send him the shipping...I mean , how can anyone possibly afford to keep paying S&H...".
I almost fell over when she said that...classic mom speak!!! I'm 40 and still enjoy mom speak!! I smiled from ear to ear as I'm sure you will when reading this.
I thank you Tony, you seem to be a good cat. I will continue reading the book you have been so generous to share. As soon as I get my life-tilt in order, I look forward to meeting you as I get back to my original plan that includes moving to Vegas to Caddie ( and play poker ).<<< I Caddie BTW
Yours in Christ,
Jonathan
