Played EPT cash games for 6 years. It's been really good every year but slowly getting a little tougher each year due to an increase of grinders.

I usually only play 5/10, this year is an utter joke!

The casino has made the games 8 handed now which to some regs sounds like a dream right? I love 2-5 handed too but find me some fish who love playing short handed.
Basically these changes are to get more tables running and make more rake. It's really made 5/10 horrendous now.
I arrived at 9am this morning and 5 X 5/5 games were running. After 1.5hrs there were 25 names on the list for 5/5 & 5/10. So because the numbers are the same but no 5/10 running yet you'd think they would make that a priority. Nope!
2 more 5/5 games ran before they opened a 5/10. It's become blatenly obvious that Gran Casino Barcelona's new policy during EPT cash games is to ruthlessly open 5/5 games. Basically you could have 8 games running and maybe 15 seats open and they open new games. Games have been breaking down because of this and the 8 handed has created big issue. People sit out so 3rd to sit out gets charged, people just leave and it breaks the games.

I really feel like somebody should use their brain and find a better solution to the cash list madness and seating issue.

This year is an absolute *** up but all previous years were really good. This year is leaving such a bad taste in my mouth with how the games are run I probably will cross it off of my schedule for good. Real shame because I love Barcelona as a city and the poker is usually really good. The casino have just created a monster they have no idea how to control.

I tell people how awesome short handed is every chance I get; "you can play way more hands so you're playing more poker, it's more action and more fun". I'd love to see fast 6 max tables - no tankers or slowpokes. Make poker fun again!

I guess if they let 3 people sit out the idiots who "want to play big pots"(and think they can't shorthanded) get upset. I know omc's who would play 15 handed if they could.

Your money comes from recs, not pros who like shorthand play. Very few recs actually like short handed play. They prefer a full table.

Changes that make a game 8 handed and charging people sitting out when you don't even table balance, must move or any decent system for a waiting list is always going to have a negative effect on a players experience playing poker. They don't like it, they don't come back, you don't eat! Pretty simple.

I always laugh to myself when the one guy at the table who tells the floor "we have an open seat" or "is there anyone on the list?" the moment we become 8 handed. Maybe some people think poker has to be played with 9 people all the time.
