Short term, you're correct in that it will be bad for MI players as the NJ regs will come storming in. Long term, it's good for all. In order to get more recs, there's needs to be more advertising. In order for there to be more advertising, poker operators need to collect more rake.

According to Pokerstars, even after the update, the merge won't happen until the 'coming weeks'. Once Pokerstars merges, MI & NJ players will be able to play against each other. Until another Michigan operator makes a statement, PokerstarsMI will be the first site to merge with NJ.

*When BetMGM merges, it will be the same, NJ & MI.

*When WSOP merges, it will be MI, NJ, DE, and NV.

I've studied a few mid stake crushers DBs from .com and honestly I'm not impressed with the rest of the pool. You guys suck. Americans would crush you eventually like we do in everything else.

"WSOP, on the other hand, has made no signals of progress. It already runs a multi-state online poker network between New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware. But there is a significant disparity between the software in these states and the newer apps in Michigan."

MI here... Can't play until later, but just logged in real quick and there are definitely more tables going now at all stakes. Nice to see. Going to have a lot of new notes/stats hopefully in the next few weeks

What is the bad actors clause for the Nevada bill? I am reading from one source that it's 10 years, in which case we could potentially see Pokerstars applying for a NV license this year.

"bad actors clause " ? There has always been a fitness review for any gaming license. Is there anything special source you are referring to for online ?

https://pokerfuse.com/news/law-and-r...lockout-14-02/ Article from Feb 2013

Stars was deemed a bad actor by Nevada for "violating the UIGEA". I was also wondering if they'd be able to get into NV now ... once the 10 years has passed, which it has (or will in a few months)

^ this is what I was referring to - Pokerstars was given a waiting period penalty before they could apply for a license. I don't agree with it, but that's what it is.

Here's out latest article on the topic: Does FanDuel’s Return to Nevada Mean PokerStars Can Go Back, Too?

Published last August; we quote a couple of gaming attorneys on PokerStars' potential return to the market.

Thanks for the link, had not looked at Nevada and online poker in a while .... which is ironic to me.

I did catch a BetMGM announcement in Pokerfuse about Nevada and a tournament series butting heads with the WSOP, which is welcome news, although live poker is the better choice in Nevada in my personal opinion.

Bill Introduced For Pennsylvania To Join Multi-State Online Poker Compact

Under no surprise, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) would regulate the state’s involvement with the MSIGA.

Should the bill pass, Pennsylvania would join the following states already in the MSIGA:

Nevada
Delaware
Michigan
New Jersey
West Virginia
A potential six-state MSIGA opens the door for a shared liquidity arrangement that allows for merged player pools. Joining the MSIGA should help Pennsylvania get back to the top of the poker market, as it lost ground late in 2023.

Impact MSIGA would have on Pennsylvania gambling market
Pennsylvania has four poker operators within the state, which are:

WSOP PA
PokerStars PA
BetMGM Poker PA
Borgata Poker PA

I’m seriously stoked to finally see some movement for PA joining MSIGA. Hopefully it moves through the house and senate quickly and we can be a part of the player pool by early 2025. I imagine that’s the fastest timeline. Anyone else think it may be possible to join player pools before mid-2025?

Michigan joined MSIGA in May of 2022 and went live with combined pools with NJ Jan 1st 2023. I'm sure six months isn't out of the question, but maybe a year.

Curious what the the landscape will look like. Obviously PS will be the first to scoop in, but now you got stories of PartyPoker being for sale and the rumors of 888 and WSOP wanting to go separate ways.
