The Nevada Gaming Control Board just announced that Michigan is being added to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. This means that players from Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, and Michigan can now play online poker in the same player pool.

AWESOME news!! If we can get Pennsylvania and West Virginia as well, things will be on the right track! Liquidity in these regulated pools is a big deal.

First they have to upgrade Nevada to the new software I am guessing/hoping. How long are they going to dick around putting all this together?

Yep, that is what is being said. Would be awesome if they do the upgrade and merge before WSOP starts.

That's awesome and wish I could play there but they are the worst run company on the planet earth. No matter how great something sounds, it will not make a difference because WSOP.com will mess it up. I gave them my documents and they told me I have to have a passport. This is so crazy, why do I need a passport to play online poker?? I have a photo ID and uploaded that. I mean, I am a Canadian citizen and drove here from Canada. I was able to go across the border by showing the border agents my driver's license. They accepted it and now I am in Nevada. WSOP says that I HAVE to have a passport. What kind of bullshit is that? WSOP has more strict requirements than TWO COUNTRIES????????? WTF?!?!?

Are you sure Partypoker will be able to also do interstate? They are only NJ right now. Would be weird to be accepted to MI but not Nevada

PartyPoker (BetMGM)- Yes
PokerStars- Yes
WSOP- Yes

As mentioned above:
WSOP- NJ, NV, DE, and MI
Pokerstars- NJ & MI
Party/BetMGM- NJ & MI

If Party goes live in NV, expect them to connect with MI & NJ.

All credible sources (not just me) mention the same thing:

is every site going to lose the ability to use a HUD because NV is completely braindead with their regulations? at least Stars will be safe.

I never liked how if I made a call on the river, if the chips went in quickly I always had the worst hand at showdown and when the chips went in slowly it was my opponent who had a worse hand. Slightly tilting lol

I've been playing on there for three years now, I think you learn to like it.

That's a good announcement for players in the US but find it humorous that you guys are excited about the "new 8 software". It's the only software I've ever truly hated personally playing on and much preferred the old to it. It has been improved in my opinion since it's been released and it is more tolerable now for me but I still wouldn't call it an upgrade over the old software. It might play better on a tablet or mobile but on a desktop I've never really gotten use to it.

Every site/network continues to make a worse version of their software when they make a significant change to the GUI:

PokerStars had the best version of their software up until the switch to Aurora.
PartyPoker had their best version around 2011 - 2012, upgraded to a worse version, and then upgraded to an even worse version after that.
ACR had a better version in 2017 and then upgraded to a worse version.
GG had their best version around 2016 and then upgraded to a worse version.
I haven't played on 888's new software, but I imagine they have followed suit by making a worse version of it and judging by the screenshots they have.

Stop trying to fix **** that isn't broken.

BETMGM to go live in Nevada this spring?

"The experts over at pokerfuse expect that BetMGM will launch in the US state of Nevada this Spring.

News swirled last month that BetMGM was reading for launch in Nevada with parent company Entain receiving a three-year interactive gaming license extension last summer — which means they could be gearing up to finally launch in the state.

The big question mark as to BetMGM launching in Nevada was the status of shared players pools between the states of New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware.

And now, Michigan is set to join the interstate poker compact, which will double the size of the market. It can already be presumed that BetMGM will link up BetMGM MI to its network in NJ and the opportunity to add Nevada to that network would be too good to pass up. Now that the path is open for BetMGM to follow in WSOP’s footsteps and launch its own three-state network, there should be nothing left standing in the way of the launch of BetMGM NV."

Timeline is unknown. Based on history, 3-6 months seems reasonable for at least 1 operator to connect their player pools.

They seem very optimistic.

"Expect PokerStars, WSOP (with partner 888), and BetMGM (with partypoker) to all aggressively pursue this — all will benefit greatly connecting Michigan with their New Jersey operations. It should happen in days or weeks, not months."

With MI Greenlit, Will PA Be Next to Join US Online Poker Compact?

Michigan signing on to share liquidity with New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware could persuade Pennsylvania to follow suit and join the multi-state compact next.

"In an exclusive statement to PA Gaming Review just a day after the news that the Mitten State was joining MSIGA, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s administration appears to be moving away from the state’s previous stance that it needs more clarity on the Wire Act and, rather, is now considering whether it should follow Michigan’s lead in joining the multi-state compact for poker."

I mentioned the following in another thread, but wanted to post it here as it might be more appropriate.

Michigan has 1 Partypoker skin under BetMGM MI.

New Jersey has 3 Partypoker skins - BetMGM NJ, Borgota NJ and Partypoker NJ

All 3 NJ rooms obviously share player pools and allow a separate account for each skin.

When all these player pools are finally combined, does anyone see this as a potential problem for MI and any other State with only 1 Partyporker account per player as apposed to the 3 separate accounts for NJ players?
