I'm renting a server from MonkerGuy(https://www.monkerguy.com).
About a month ago, I had to send a friend $21 744usdt.
By mistake, I sent to the previously used address which was the one I uses to pay for MonkerGuy.
I realized the mistake few days, after when my friend told me he was waiting for his usdt.

I texted MonkerGuy about it and at first he said he never received it.
I checked on the blockchain and the money had been transferred to an exchange an hour after it arrived.
I confronted him about it and he now said the address belonged to a friend. He then also said, his friends account got freezed for KYC purposes.
I have asked about who that friend was, what exchange it was, …. MonkerGuy has decided not to answer any of those questions.

It is also interesting to note that that eth address was receiving payments in usdt on regular basis but suddenly stopped the moment my $21k hit.

Please be aware of this guy if you are using his rental service. I have always paid without any problems and no delays and this is not the way how you should run a business.

The fact that he first lied about the money, then doesn't want to share any of his "friend" information should raise lots of red flags. In my opinion, said friend doesn't exist and is just an excuse to keep the money.

Will keep an eye on this issue.

This is super shady, if the whole kyc frozen wallet thing is true he should be very transparent about it and provide proof. Not a good look!

I am a lazy duck using his service to rent two servers(I mean all he does is really just setting up servers from Amazon for me… I’ll just ask someone else in the future rather than paying him monthly for it.) 2x1000gb servers cost 2k a month, I’m sure he pockets a solid share of it, if a dozen guys do the same it’s gonna hurt the only place he cares for, financially.

News update:

All he can offer me is a discount of 200$ per month, well played sir, that's how you treat your customers.

On the odd chance there is a benign explanation for this MonkerGuy needs to be transparent because this looks v bad.

MonkerGuy always struck me as a bit odd on twitter but I guess he's not just odd but a thief too.

im renting two servers costing 2k each, im sure he pockets a decent amount of it, its even my own license im using on them so all he needed to do was set servers up and give me login, collecting few hundred a month per server passively for many months....Sweet gig if you ask me, im sure there is quite a bunch out there that would happily do this instead, as it just boils down to lazyness really since most server rental services is pretty click and play nowadays.

Hes willing to burn it all down cause he cant leverage some anger onto his "friend" that PROOVINGLY know of the money cause he moved it? If his friend indeed is such a scumbag that addy ppl have sent to before isnt to be trusted out of the sudden when its a unexpected send and knowingly puts monkerguy in such a shitty spot that he risks his livelyhood maybe monkerguy should just cut him off as a friend and maybe salvage his business out of pocket. Friendships have ruined businesses before.

I would assume someone who has traded and held cryptocurrency for any amount of time to have the knowledge/opsecs to understand the dangers of using exchange address's (which tbh i don't believe he did) there will be ways to find this out though.

This is almost never the correct move, as we end up with two threads with duplicate conversation and neither one having all the facts. I'll merge the two threads now so this doesn't happen. If someone thinks a thread like this should be in a different forum, they should request it be moved.

Also, NVG doesn't become the place for a thread simply because it will get "more traction", but there are times when a scam thread involves a person or site that is well known/widely used and thus justifies a thread there. I'm not sure if this one meets the threshold, but it seems close enough that I'll leave the merged thread there.

my understanding is that Coinex is a non kyc platform. KYC is required if you want to have all the features and higher limits, but you can deposit, withdrawal and trade on the site without kyc. So the kyc arguement is just bullshit imo unless they have changed to kyc mandatory in last cpl weeks or something. hope that helps.
