Cliffs:

Moneymaker owes Jason ~20k from sports betting on credit with Jason's "bookie."

Jason owes Sheets and several others money from sports betting with Jason's "bookie."

"Bookie" conveniently disappeared right when Jason decided to pour all of his money into some ****ty restaurant.

Moneymaker found out Jason is unable to pay people and thus didn't want to pay him based on the fact that Jason is insolvent and wouldn't have paid MM had he won his bets.

Somehow Sheets and others convince MM to pay up anyway so they can get their money owed. Everything is "resolved."

Jason is super shady.

Chris claims he found this out in April but so far hasn't presented any proof of it.

I'm the friend who is owed money. I was in Toronto during the NHL playoffs(April 2012), and since everyone there loves hockey I decided to make a bet on my home team, the Washington Capitals. Here are our posts:

I'll also be in Miami for WPT from 16th-25th, so if you happen to be there we could settle up in person.

Whats the no vig line anyway? I'm just a very casual Caps fan who is currently staying in Canada(so much hockey coverage!!!) so I wanted a sweat.

We can put that into a no-vig calculator and use that if you want. I am risking $1K. You are risking ~$2K

Disagree. It has been very difficult to stay in touch with Jason, as I've tried to track him down on here, on email, and via twitter. I was able to have this brief exchange via email in August 2013:

From him(after I contacted him multiple times via twitter and gave him my email) on 8/8/13:

Quote:
What's going on man- I didn't have any emails hopefully we finally touch base- hadn't been back on 2+2 since the site crashed don't even have my log in info at this point. Opened a business and had a baby in the past year- liquid $ is tight at the moment but I obv you... Moneymaker owes me 25k that I'm working on getting he's supposed to be shipping $ off stars at the next ept whenever that is. So gimme a few weeks to see how that pans out and if he doesn't come through ill ship something over to ya to just get the ball rolling. I literally am working 7 days 16+ hours a day at my restaurant and spend all of the other time with my daughter so when I know you got this ill shoot u my # so u can just text me cuz I'm not always checking email etc

My response on 8/9/13:

Quote:
Hey man

My cell is xxx xxx xxxx. I don't mind working out a payment plan if money is tight these days- I'm pretty broke myself, which is why I need to collect on this. Talk to you soon.

-Assani

and then I never heard from him again.

To people saying that if he was guaranteeing the money, why wouldn't he a bookie rather than an agent, what if he just trusted the bookie? Say in his mind there's a 0.1% chance of having to front the money. So he takes 15k, gives to his boss. He can't take the swings of betting those amounts, but it is very possible he could legit have the money to guarantee the bets and prefer the relatively low variance money without having to put up with huge swings unless the very rare case of the boss skipping out happened.

Also I still don't get how JY wins if sheets and others made their bets later. Wouldn't that mean they were making bets after JY had admitted his boss ran off and he didn't have the money? Yes this would mean CM was in the wrong too but he still shouldn't pay.

Similarly, while it does seem like if CM had lost he might not have been able to pay either, but that's not relevant at all in this scenario other than warning others to avoid betting with him in the future. The fair resolution if either was freerolling the other would be for the bet to be void. So if they both made the bet and they both were freerolling each other, the fair resolution in both cases would be for no money to be paid. In this case that's CM's side and if he'd won it'd be JY's side. Just because they were being scummy themselves doesn't mean they owe money when the fair resolution would clearly be 0.

If I knew how to post pics and all that I would put a picture of a tweet from assani from 7/26/13 that says " I'm a lazy poker player who is bad about following through, we still have never settled up"

the site went down and I never went back on, thread was dead and he contacted me 15 months later. That was a bet between us, and had nothing to do with a third party. He didn't contact me, how can I pay someone that I don't know who it even is. I was unaware of this debt until july when he brought it to my attention. Ive also never denied that it is in fact owed. I had been to the wsop 2x that was posted all over my fb and twitter and never heard a peep.

I know everyone likes drama and conspiracies but my financial situation now has been already discussed, he is owed $ I responded with an email stating I acknowledged it. If this would have been brought to my attention earlier it would have 100% been taken care of already- as for right now it will be handled asap.

You are such a pos it's unreal. How do you get off saying "I'm acknowledging I owe money" and then think everything is fine. How do your restaurant partners/investors feel about being in business with someone with gambling issues? You're a ****ing joke. Makes me sick you get opportunities over and over even though you are a complete degen.

Yes, this is correct. Nearly every time I've contacted you, I've tried to be like "Hey looks like we both must've forgotten about this, lets try to get it settled" instead of "You owe me money. Pay up ASAP!!!". I did this because I felt it would increase my chances of getting paid.

Here were our twitter interactions:

Just so I'm understanding here....

You made a bet with me on 2p2. 2p2 went down for about a week. You concluded that there was no possible way of finding me or settling up in any way. Is that correct?

I feel as if arguing with you will only hurt my chances of getting paid, so I won't bother posting here much more. As soon as I am paid, I will mention it in this thread so that your reputation can be cleared. The best way to contact me is via twitter or 2p2 PM.

Jason Young confirmed super shady character... saddest thing is that this is the regular kind of guy in the poker/gambling world.

nothing should have been paid imo, and more people should have come out and outted him and his debts

Solid analysis by Kilowatt. Bet is void. CM should take a step back before he considers paying this a$$ clown a dime. How many more people are going to come forward with charges of scumbaggery by JY. Let this play out a little longer before shipping anything to anyone.
