http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...solved-354058/

In this thread, Moneymaker unquestionably stiffed, stalled, and ignored for one year a person he owed a prize supposedly worth 10k for a tournament which he (Moneymaker Gaming) sponsored. And the same "I was traveling", "I didn't get the messages", "I don't handle that, my assistant/associate deals with that", and "I don't owe you the money, X or Y or Z owes you the money", etc., etc.

The prizewinner is stalled for half a year and finally agrees to take 4.5k cash for what he was told was a prize package valued at 10k.

He's then stiffed on receiving the 4.5k, stalled for another 6 months and finally posts a twoplustwo thread about it.

CM was belligerent in the thread, at one point making a nasty unfunny crack about the person he owed the debt to, and then clearly lied and said "I was only kidding" when posters jumped on him about it, although there was no trace of humor in his comment.

Ultimately he was shamed into acknowledging and iIrc taking care of the debt, but it took a lot of posts and public dismay, and imo revealed his true character - he's a stiff at heart, and disreputable.
I don't think anyone can read the thread and think otherwise.

As I mentioned, don't know how this thread with JY was resolved or not at this point, nor do I know yet what further evidence if any has been presented up to this point, but I do know what I think of Moneymaker.
Oh c'mon.

CM handled himself in that thread almost perfectly and he did all he could, and beyond.

If anyone can take anything from that thread is how good, positive and stand-up guy CM is.
And even his fruit-basket joke was funny.

Wouldn't say the exactly the same for this thread, but as it is evolving itself to a good conclusion, will not stir things up.

Assani, no offense but are you serious??? You are definitely what people like Jason consider an EASY MARK. You haven't been paid in 18 months yet you continue to allow Jason to dictate these ridiculous options. If not Kilowatt there are others he can deal with to get you the money quick. You are obviously a nice guy but you are too soft and people like Jason eat those people for breakfast.
Lol at now waiting for "checks" for a paltry 2k after he just played a 5k.

Good luck Assani, good luck bro.

Jason doesn't feel like dealing with kilowatts. Assani didn't feel like waiting 18 months either. Jason needs to realize when you make mistakes sometime there are repercussions. The minor hassle of dealing with kilowatts doesn't seem like a huge inconvenience. Jason for your sake just bite the bullet and deal with Kilowatts.

Sorry guys, but I'm with Jason on this part of it. I have absolutely nothing to do with this other than reading a few hundred posts and being fascinated that this is all being aired publicly. But Kilowatt came into this thread and took it over with very pointed and personal accusations which he appears to have very little factual information to back up. Attacking someone the way Kilowatt did based on "hunches" and a "vibe" he got is bull****. He came off like a bully. If I was Jason I woud have nothing to do with the guy either. Screw sending him money as a 3rd party. Kilowatt had nothing to do with this and made himself a part of the story by posting a crapload of accusations over and over. He should back the f off and let these guys work out their situation on their own. My .02.
11-05-2013 , 03:37 PM
imo chris shouldnt pay until jason has paid everyone off

so basically never
11-05-2013 , 03:37 PM
To be clear, I'm fine with him transferring to Kilowatt, him sending checks, or whatever reasonable, trustworthy, and timely method he wants to use. I just want my money as soon as possible given the circumstances.

I personally don't care who the 3rd party is, as long as they are trustworthy. I didn't specifically go out of my way to choose Kilowatt- I went to 2 other people first(they can name themselves if they wish) and it fell through.

doesn't surprise me at all. it allows him to miss future payments and not be held to a specific time table. you need to have specific dates or gl lol.
11-05-2013 , 03:47 PM
You should be insisting on him bank xferring to another 3rd party, there must be plenty of people able to accept that kind of xfer.

The sending check in mail bit is just so common in instances where the guy can't pay and needs time. In fact didn't LCCF resort to this for a bit in the sports thread scam, sending envelopes with no checks in or something?!?!

Hilarious that JY still referred to his historic reputation itt, like it means a thing. People act differently when they have no money. It's easy to be trustworthy when you can afford to be, doesn't make you an intrinsically ethical person.

His exact text says: "at least ____ per ____, probably more because...." where the first blank is an exact dollar amount and the second blank is a unit of time. I will hold him to this and will post ITT if he fails to meet it.

I told him that I would let him come up with the payment plan and he did so. I'm happy with this aspect of things(so long as he sticks to it).

Don't remember specifics of other thread but do know for a fact I had zero knowledge of any of it till I was alerted to the thread. I found out the facts and got checks cut that week. As for this situation I am doing best to make right decision. I giving 6k to sheets charity and talking with jason and other guys owed.

sending in mail is so messy. He could claim he sent payments week ago, only for it to conveniently get "lost."

I highly recommend you get someone else as a third party, as you will know the moment it hits the bank account.

I'm speaking from experience - mail is the worst medium to get paid back from.

good luck either way.

So gift certificates to the Turn would be out of the question?

What are you discussing with the other victims who were scammed? I thought you already had made up your mind as far as not paying until the information was brought forward by Jason. Paying off debts you are not responsible for wont' really do much in the way of repairing the damage done in this thread since it doesn't change anything. Your credibility took the hit the moment the texts were posted and it was apparent you made bets you didn't have the money available to pay. Deciding to pay at this point just adds a $20k hit onto an already damaged rep. I guess that's the direction this thread has been going though anyway so may as well.

Moral of the Story: Sinking your net worth into a restaurant named after a street of betting in a poker game is stressful, time consuming, and apparently not too profitable.

Stick to poker kids.

WOW that checks have to be mailed. Literally ****ing walk into any Bank of America and deposit the money. Have fun with having the bank call about the bounced check you deposited.

TL;DR: Jason's check will bounce.

the only people who thinks moneymaker looks bad in this are the ones who opened this thread wanting to read about moneymaker being a bad guy

Maybe if MM paid his dues in full right now, the full payment to Assani would be coming to him more swiftly?

Also, there is the argument that given he is reputedly out of the betting business, that he has a smaller stream of cash to tap into because he wants to separate this line of payment from his restaurant and family designated pool of funds.

You need to read his initial response to the OP more carefully to come to the view whether CM is a 'good, positive and stand-up' guy.

A number of posters picked apart MM's initial response and on the whole there wasn't too much criticism about what they picked out.

Also, there is a similar delay pattern to that matter as in this matter but with this matter you can argue that MM has had more of a hands-on role to his stalling of paying JY than the OP in the other as it was done through MM's agent and whilst one could say MM was aware the whole time, you couldn't definitively affirm this.

In addition, we have to wonder whether this JY v MM debacle would ever come to the more realistic possibility of a resolution without JY prompting MM into action in relation to creating this thread. Maybe he learned some sort of lesson from the thread Stinky raised into getting his story up first...

First off I am Chris and I got messages from Jason that he was going to post our issue on 2+2 last night and he tweeted about it last night as well. He has threaten to post on here for over a year and I told him that he should feel free to do so. After seeing his tweet I have a feeling he will not list out all the facts correctly so I am here to do so

As a side note I was discouraged to see your thread on 2+2, but happy that it was brought to my attention

I don't believe a payment schedule plan is such a bad idea in these circumstances from Assani's point of view. He seems like the diligent sort of guy to make sure JY sticks to it and is not frightened to expose it on here if JY fails to meet his requirements.

FYP.

Still no answer on why Jason never bothered to meet with CM in private over the last 18 months with all of his "evidence"???LOL

Jason already failed to meet his "requirements". With at least 3 people for a substantial sum of money. JY needs a new PR rep.
