A lot of poker players are interested in other games or even have background playing other games. This gave me the idea for joint events. Fun for players and spectators.
Monthly event that features a poker tournament and tournaments for 2 or 3 different games, such as darts, bowling, pool, chess, mahjong or backgammon. This way the poker events can profit from the sponsor money and media attention from the other games.
The poker tournaments will be a 25K NLHE 6 max(once a year PLO), there will be 3 days of play with antes from the first level and no increase of blinds and antes at the final table. The winner receives a share of the prize money, a golden chip and a free seat to the next event. In order to encourage players to play as many events as possible there will be a reward program that awards points based on loyalty and results. Points can be spend on live style perks, like a bottle of champagne at the table or a flight in a private jet to one of the events.
The fish and chip thing was not what i had in mind. Although i see that you could think that. I was more thinking of actual tournaments with top players of each game.
A couple of days ago i was watching darts on tv and there were between 5 en 7 thousand people that paid and entrance fee to watch this live. Poker can learn from that and posssibly profit from al the media attention.
In the USA dart tourney shows are paid for and produced by the promoter, not the sports network. The promoter buys the time on the network and sells his own advertising in hopes of making a profit. Tough to do with poker these days.
