Sweet! We are burying Rep. Mack's page with pro-poker comments. We got 47 likes just on one of my responses to her request on people's thoughts on the matter. That's pretty good considering that there are so many comments that mine got pushed off the front page fairly quickly.

Inspirational speech for the poker troops:

(Coughs, clears throat) Hello. Thank you for taking the time to come hear what I have to say today. Today our nation stands at a precipice. Historically the United States of America has stood near sources of danger and overcome them. No nation in the history of the world has overcome more adversity. To some of you sitting out there today such statements might appear arrogant. Imperialistic and egotistical truisms spoken through the lens of a duplicitous and evil state of self congratulation. Although Machiavellian interests permeate our spheres of power they are but a strand that makes up the fabric of our great nation. Unparalleled success has the potential to generate unparalleled protectionism. Unequaled injustices. Unmatched oppression. For just as clarity of purpose has the ability to foster great achievements, a lack of clarity has the ability to destroy them. So as we peer out into the vast complexes of intelligence generated by the founding maxims of our great nation we must be reminded of how their creation came about.

The men and women of this nation acting upon their free will without restraint went about their various enterprises. They invented and saved. Built and innovated. They were free from undue oppression and unjust governance. It existed but they would not let it reach them. If a tax collector was unjust he met justice. He was turned away along the path he came to. A man declared his freedom if it was just. Today the reach of our government has never been felt more but it has become increasingly difficult for a man to resist its injustice when present.

So we stew in our bitterness and contempt for a process whose freedom is distributed along paths of influence that bear little resemblance to the Constitutional intentions of the founders. A quiet resister in past times might have had power when he finally choose to speak. Today the loudest voice has difficultly being heard.

Now we cannot control who listens to us. Nor can we control the destruction of our nation if those with influence are determined to destroy it. All we can do within the sphere of power that we have is to raise just objections in the loudest manner possible. And we will.

(cough) Thank you and God Bless the United States of America
