This would put Justin Kuraitis as being the PRODUCTION MANAGER for Stones at being early 2016. When does Mike Postle start his god like run?

Great idea. I'm currently working on updating the spreadsheet with all the sessions from 2018. Might add seat data as well, that looks quite interesting. Hope to finish tonight.

I don't think I have enough posts to send/receive PMs. Not sure.

I really can't believe how long this went on for. How does no one ever call him out for doing that weird look a his lap thing while hands are being played? It's almost unbelievable really.

re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

Great thread.

People were asking about legal stuff...

Quote:
332. CHEATING
(a) Every person who by the game of "three card monte," so-called, or any
other game, device, sleight of hand, pretensions to fortune telling, trick, or other
means whatever, by use of cards or other implements or instruments, or while
betting on sides or hands of any play or game, fraudulently obtains from another
person money or property of any description, shall be punished as in the case of
larceny of property of like value for the first offense, except that the fine may not
exceed more than five thousand dollars ($5,000). A second offense of this section
is punishable, as in the case of larceny, except that the fine shall not exceed ten
thousand dollars ($10,000), or both imprisonment and fine.
(b) For the purposes of this section, "fraudulently obtains" includes, but is not
limited to, cheating, including, for example, gaining an unfair advantage for any
player in any game through a technique or device not sanctioned by the rules of
the game.
(c) For the purposes of establishing the value of property under this section,
poker chips, tokens, or markers have the monetary value assigned to them by the
players in any game.
This implies that it is treated exactly like theft of the same amount of money, except that the max fine is $5k. Jail time appears to be uncapped, though.

Quote:
337x. CHEATING
It is unlawful to cheat at any gambling game in a gambling establishment.
Good to know, but there is no clarifying information (nothing about penalties)

Quote:
337y. UNLAWFUL MANUFACTURE, SALE, OR DISTRIBUTION OF PROHIBITED
DEVICES; UNLAWFUL MARKING, ALTERING, OR MODIFICATION OF GAMING
DEVICES OR ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT; UNLAWFULLY INSTRUCTING OTHER
IN CHEATING OR USE OF DEVICES FOR CHEATING
It is unlawful to do either of the following:
(a) Manufacture, sell, or distribute any cards, chips, dice, game, or device
which is intended to be used to violate Section 337u, 337v, 337w, or 337x.
(b) Mark, alter, or otherwise modify any gambling game device or associated
equipment in a manner that either:
(1) Affects the result of a wager by determining win or loss.
(2) Alters the normal criteria of random selection, which affects the
operation of a gambling game or which determines the outcome of a
game.
(c) It is unlawful for any person to instruct another in cheating or in the use of
any device for that purpose, with the knowledge or intent that the information or
use conveyed may be employed to violate Section 337u, 337v, 337w, or 337x.
(337y(c) could possibly be used for accomplices)

This is all from https://www.oag.ca.gov/sites/all/fil...g_law_2014.pdf

There are also sections that imply that if the casino is in on it, they can lose their license to operate. It's a massive file but just search for "cheating".

This is all only criminal and CA regulatory stuff; of course an individual who has been cheated can always sue. Or they might want to get together and file a class action suit.

First off infinite thank yous are owed to Veronica (Angry Polack), who was harassed and bullied by so many of her "friends" and coworkers in the industry a few days ago when she first came out with these accusations.

Second, this goes so far beyond Postle. Justin and whoever else was in on this or knew about it deserve jail time and a permanent ban from the poker industry. There can be zero tolerance for not speaking up when cheating so blatant as this is allowed to go on for years on a live stream no less.

To sum up: In sumo, you yearly have 15 matches in some sort of tournament. Win 8 of them and you increase in rank, which carries a lot of privileges. So - something hinky was going on with the 15th matches of a lot of sumo wrestlers.

That is - whenever a matchup was between a sumo wrestler with *exactly 7 matches won* and the opponent had 8 or more matches already won - the player with exactly 7 matches was *much, much more likely* to win the match than common sense would dictate among equally skilled and ranked players.

In short - what was happening was that the player who was already secured a rank was throwing the match so that the opponent could advance in rank. It was impossible to prove that *any one match* was fixed, but it was possible to prove, statistically, that *there must have been matches that were fixed.* .

Follow me so far?

What is going on is that there is no damning evidence that Postle cheated on *any particular hand.* Even that 54o hand or the 88/TT hand I can put on a 'sick read' in isolation. But, like the sumo wrestlers, over many, many hands, we can see that *something* must have been going on in *at least some of the hands.*

In other words, I think that it is *unreasonable* to think that Postle is *that good* and *that lucky*.

Someone's going to have to start combing through *every single hand he played* and start making some spreadsheets and getting some R analysis done. Hell, if I was going for a statistics PHD, this would be one hell of a paper.

Did anybody else read this in Doug Polk’s voice? Or just me?

Just watching the 45 v AK v AK hand again.

This is the one that tells me that the whole commentary team are in on this. I originally thought he had someone else signalling him
They comment as if they know, without a doubt, what he's going to do (call two all ins) to the point that they have the graphical memes lined up ready. They even say 'Is this the one'.

Will it come out that Veronica was in on it too but something happened that prompted her to spill the beans?

It takes real balls to cheat professional gamblers out of money. At least it did in the old days.

So he can answer the calls from the man in the back without the table seeing anything suspicious, guy in the back probably can't stay on the call the entire time the stream is up. Keeps the phone in the lap and probably looking down a lot in big spots waiting for the call or something idk.

Might've been only used when he knew he couldn't use his phone. They did "ban" them at one point but it looked like that wasn't serious. Or just as a backup/easier/less paper trail option. Or he needs both. Who knows.

If they are commentating on a 30 minute delay or whatever I guess it's possible they are tipped off that an absurb hand would be played.

This. It is super unlikely any commentators are involved. Would make no sense to involve them.

Obviously, I hope all culpable parties are sued and jailed.

But nobody can think of one example of this ever happening to a poker cheat. Yet we've got the NSA decrypting their communications and the ever-vigilant California Gaming Commission assembling a task force.

IANAL but these don't seem like rich men. They made the money in cash and if you sued them individually, I'm not sure what you would even wind up getting. Most gamblers I know, who obtain their money legally, aren't really keen on keeping it in banks and stuff.

I couldn't find the case of the poker player who sued the bike for being cheated back in the 80s/90s but I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy and it did happen. He was a semi-well known player, I think Middle Eastern.

I did find this case where some guys sued the LA Card clubs for their jackpot scams. Thrown out of court. Part of the reason:

Quote:
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Emile H. Elias ruled that state law prohibited the players from trying to recover gambling losses in the courts.
https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-...420-story.html

Don't know if and how that pertains to this case. But my guess is they get away with it outside of public embarrassment.
