I also like the cross-cutting between Postle's interview and Veronica's interview.

Again, good stuff here.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

I think I've found the exact moment/hand and sequence of events that took place that convinced Postle to decide to cheat. It's going in my last Postle session video tomorrow.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

A ways back in the early stages of this thread it was stated that MP had approached the management of Stones several years ago about selling them a game he had developed that was a variation of poker. As I recall, they were somewhat interested and they discussed it over a period of time.

I believe the previous statement to be accurate. The following is pure speculation.

What if, during said discussions, questions were raised as to whether his proposed game would be compatible with their streaming setup? What if, to explore this issue, he was allowed access to the peek room? Maybe even for an extended period of time? Perhaps he then saw the diabolical possibilities such a system presented and re-assessed his priorities; a compromised stream could prove much more profitable it the short run than collecting royalties from a game.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

yes the dreamseat was his idea:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn9uxXFkg-k

it was a weird format of a sit and go.

they deleted the info from the website now I think, to cut connections?

So he invents a new game for the casino and then cheats there? wtf?

One thing that must be looked at is the fact that we know there is a high correlation between non-god mode and JFK not being there.

It would be interesting to list JFK vs non JFK sessions
Also look at non-Postle sessions with JFK vs non-JFK to see if there is a commentator bias.

So can we assume that the distribution of commentators could be related to the person who decides/asks people to be on the stream.
If JFK is away maybe the person left in charge of asking decides to bring in a few new faces? (he may not like certain people as much as JFK)

The distribution could just be purely a bias of the person asking, either JFK or not JFK. Each person may have their personal preferences.

Not 100% we can infer anything from this small sample especially with there being some overlap over god mode and non-god mode.

Why would they want to prosecute Postle more than the people who started the entire operation? Seems like going after the street dealers instead of the distributors. Everyone wants Postle's head but if he was just one of many there's a lot of others who are more culpable, including (civilly) perhaps the casino if it was negligently (or w/e the standard is) allowing cheating.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

My theory on why he got caught...
(In addition to the streams being saved and a host exposing his unusual play)

If he was working alone, he could let himself lose some pots. Make some bad calls. Lose money from time to time. No one to answer to.

BUT.... he wasn’t working alone... he had to share the profits with someone.
And when they have to share the profit, he felt obligated to max out the profit. And that made his “non-standard” play that much more apparent.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

STONES LIVE POKER

Screened live on August 22, 2018

ChicagoJoey, go ahead and use any of the material below if you want.

Featuring the one and only greatest poker player in the world, the legend himself,

MIKE POSTLE

Seated in god mode certified seat number 2

A bit of everything including exclusive crotch shot looks, amazing folds,
superb bluffs (the instincts of a lynx). Ironically in a game called Harlan and Villains with a player nicknamed Lock Him Up.

But seriously….

There is so much god mode here. Several suspicious hands, interspersed with a few crotch looks, chips stacked to his left to allow for easy card drags to rail to cover the crotch looks, and left arm almost always in the lap. He even manages to use a menu for cover for a bit. Very, very few losing hands except where someone draws out with less equity or hits a good river. He rarely folds pre-flop and mainly only when someone has pocket pairs. Also pay some attention to the commentators often commenting on his remarkable god-like play although there is reasonable certainty that they have no clue as to what is going on.

This has been a labor of love/hate. So here we go:

10 c 2c

Includes a few peaks at the crotch. This may be the only hand one needs to understand what god mode is all about. Mike calls 3 bet pre-flop with 10c 2c against some good cards. He hits his deuce on the flop for top pair. Looks in the lap on flop, gives a big smile, and proceeds to move all in after a bet and takes it down.

Qd 4d

Two deuces on the board and 3 clubs but Mike has no fear check raising big on the end to take down another one with only 2 4’s.

Ks 10d

Folds top pair Kings on the flop when another players has pocket Aces.
Amazing instincts.

Aces

Re-raised on the river with pocket Aces on a wet 3,4,5,6, board.
But, then again why just call behind when you know you have the winner. Obviously Aces never get cracked.

3h 2d

This one includes a quick lap look. Re-raises on the turn with bottom pair (deuces!) and 2 Queens on the board when opponent has nothing but a flush draw. Great bet once again Mike. That’s the way to sniff it out or should I say crotch it out.

Commentator

I think that he is not aware of what is really going on say “ Mike can see his opponents hole cards right now. He can just see their cards.” He says the same thing later in the broadcast. If he only knew.

QD 8D

A hand against Harlan and his villain. Villain hits a pair on flop. Calls $300 pot size bluff bet by Harlan. Calls $450 on the turn still with bottom pair. Gets lucky and hits two pair in the river. Calls a large bet on the river and takes down a $3,000 pot. This one was so unbelievable I had to watch it a few times. And all the dramatics on the river. Disgusting!

Kings

Poor Harlan is now on tilt and moves all in with 6c 5s.
Watch and enjoy! But Mike still wins money with 3 all ins
and largest stack, of course.

Jacks

Very obvious look at his pee pee on this one. Hits his set on the flop.
Folds on the river when the hero hits his straight. Mike sure knows when to foldem!

Kc 9c

Another great fold by Mike when someone has a bigger two pair. What? God mode, God mode! One of his really nauseating laughs is featured here. Sorry about that. (:

Ad 7d

It never stops. Mike takes it down again with a river bet when nobody including him has nothing. Two pair on the board and Mike is last to act so this is maybe kind of standard. But still annoying. Commentator, “Mike wins another pot, huge surprise.”

Don’t get out of your seat yet. There’s still more to come.

Qd 7c

This hand is a bit strange. Watch it. How does Mike drag the pot here when he appears to lose the hand. Am I missing something here? Graphics error?

Ad 7s

Mike lays down an Ace here pre-flop. He rarely does that. Oh wait there are two players with pocket pairs. Way to go Mike! After this hand there appears to be a lot of fiddling down below. It’s beginning to remind of some lyrics in a Who song. Fiddle about wicked Uncle Ernie, I mean Uncle Mikey.

Jc 8c

Watch for obvious crotch at 3:38:18. There’s a bunch of these but I’ve only mentioned a few because I think everyone gets the picture by now.

Mike misses his flush draw but hits his 8 on the river. He manages once again to fold a losing hand. It’s actually an easy fold, especially for Mike.

I like this quote from the Commentator, “Coors, Like Mike Postle tonight, they just can do no wrong”

Posting this to highlight the now famous Postle card slide and crotch look.

He moves some chips aside, slides the cards back to the rail, and does the crotch look. The thing I noticed here is that he doesn’t seem to physically lift his cards with his fingers when he’s apparently supposed to be looking at the cards. Hmmm.

Ad 5h

Insta folds a river bet when Harlan has a bigger Ace,

god mode off

He actually puts his cell phone on the rail like everyone else. And plays with it (the phone that is) for a bit.

Back to god mode with placement of phone in lap.

6c 3c

“jimmy stick” (homage to a Joey phrase) peeks at 4:11:00 and 4:11:24. Folds river bet by Harlan with busted straight draw and Harlan has pocket aces.

Ac Jd

At 4:19:10 watch for the monster crotch grab and the face he makes. The dramatics. Lol. And he’s got a new technique in this one. A menu blocker. He actually lost this one calling a small all in with a bit of equity.

Ah 7c

Post size bet on turn to win another one when no ones has anything. Great instincts once again Mike.

The phone is back on the rail

Mike stands up and gets very dramatic. Another epic night for him! Things went as planned. The legend continues. But watch to 4:29:36 and it’s back in the lap again. A little chair slide bar and placement in the lap. God mode begins again. The session is just about over but he just can’t help himself. He desperately want to win the last hand of the night.

10d 8s
Last hand of the session
.

This includes a look at his panties once again. He’s dealt top pair on the flop. Woohoo! But he folds,. Wtf? Right, I forgot to mention that the other two players left in the hand have PP Jacks and PP Kings. So with a painful look on his face he is forced to make another great lay down. There is some justice on this one because he would have hit his 8 on the turn and won the hand if he hadn’t folded. Yes, we have a wee bit of justice!

Listen to wrap-up - Mike is god!

Starting Stack : $1,300

Ending Stack: $5,000

A tidy profit. Like Joey says, The Man is God!

I think the spreadsheet can now be updated to showing that session investigated and god mode was on.

I’m heading to Vegas next week and I’ll keep an eye out for Mike Postle in disguise. You never what this guy will try.

I added a bunch of links here so if you find any errors in description versus hands played let me know and I’ll fix it.

Nicely done. Just happened upon one description to fix above. Harlan had 9s 2s in the prior hand, but in this one where he went all-in against Mike's kings, he had 6c 5s.

its important that someone in management at stones loses their job, is criminally charged, and found financially responsible even if mike Postle needs to given immunity to make this happen

That would make a lot of sense - it seems clear someone involved in the process didn't understand poker very well otherwise they would have understood that this isn't natural play. I think that comes out in the way Justin talks about poker during the interviews and during commentating - anyone w/ a decent level of poker strategy understanding would realize how Postle's answers made no sense related to the level of play we were seeing.

Even beyond the sharing, the reason he went max EV cheating rather than subtle hardly noticeable cheating is because this is a low limit game. Even considering it plays bigger than a standard 1-3 game, squeaking out a couple extra BB\100 adds up to only a few grand profit per year.

For someone making an OK middle class living, the difference between 60k and 65k a year isn't really a whole lot. It's nice, but it's not life changing. If you're going to cheat, you want to move up a tax bracket. The only way to do that in this game is to suck every last dollar out of it.
