I think they only ask for punitive damages against Postle. $10M seems to be just about at the line of State Farm if they're claiming they could find $1M in actual damages. Even if it gets cut down to 2x punitive it doesn't matter too much because Postle doesn't have big bucks sitting around that we know of, especially once his winnings are depleted to cover compensatory damages.

But then again civil litigation isn't my area so I'd defer to you.

Now it actually makes.sense to me. The goal was not to steal 250k but to make stones and the people behind the scenes rich.

Imagine how much a star is worth? For the whole stream? Postle could have said give me one million or I leave the show and they would have probably given him.
nah this is a terrible video and just a bunch of conspiracy theories based on nothing

Superstar nonsense??! Are u serious? They made a meme no! 10 memes every show. That's how u create a legend or a star artificially and through cheating.

Yeah right. Then u don't know anything about business.

Why all the memes? Do u know how much attraction this Mike Postle brought? And how many player wanted to play there because the saw or heard of the stream?

In that picture you can clearly see a patch of bright neon blue (electric blue). I would bet a lot of money that the shades aren't going to do that - even with a white screen. It would look like some of the other reflections but brighter. So a more muted darker hue of blue.

Not that it definitively proves anything - but that bright blue hue here (242) is right in the wheelhouse of the direct shot of the phone (238) and the screenshot of the software (236)

Blue sunglasses means they reflect all blue light. So for something that’s completely blue, the reflection should be pretty pure.

I want to correct a misimpression people have about these videos. Yes, the streams only averaged 100 viewers. But they were archived on Twitch and youtube, and lots of people (including me!) watched them on a delayed basis.

And there's no doubt Stones got some viral penetration out of these poker videos. They are an out of the way casino in a fairly small city, Sacramento, and they attracted some A-listers of the poker world like Chris Moneymaker and Lon McEachern to play in their low stakes no limit games. People were watching these videos.

Again, the explanation for the KcQc hand is simple. Gina is shown as having it in the Mike P A2o cheating hand and Veronica AcKc. BUT in the previous hand Gina also has KcQc. Cards lagging over is a common problem. Also, Gina pretty much auto-pitches her cards pre in the cheating hand, suggesting she has a simple decision to make (ie; not KQs).

Yea, I don't know anything about business except I have an MBA. What are your qualifications for understanding business? I watch LATB all the time but never play there bc of the stream, I do go for tourneys. The most lucrative promotion a casino can do is a tournament series, not a live stream. Garrett and Andy are superstars, you think Bike would pay them a million ****ing dollars to keep playing if they threatened to leave? This guy is nuts.

The Campbell case is enforced a lot more strictly than that. In most cases, you can't get more than 1x actual damages. 2x is very, very rare, and reserved only for the most despicable conduct. 10x compensatories verdicts and judgments are routinely reversed.

Actual damages here are unlikely to be more than $250,000. That's what he took out of the game. There are some theories that could get plaintiffs a little more than that, but it would require a hand-by-hand expert analysis of what would have been won or lost had Postle played the hand normally, and that might get excluded as speculative.

The damages are very low here. There's just not much likelihood of getting around that.

It's actually the exact opposite.

He cheated at 1/3 and 2/5 because those players are mostly recreational/degenerate players, if these players go back and watch the stream they are less likely to notice anything suspicious.

Had he truely wanted to be known for this god, first of all bringing more eyes towards you would just be ******ed, but if he did he would've moved up to higher stakes and starting crushing pros, ofcourse he did not do this because of what I just outlined above. He knows these pros would catch him.

This guy cheated at low stakes because he did not want to get famous, nor did he want more eyes on him. You really need to think this **** through before you post this type of stuff.

A total of zero credible companies try to market via memes. Wtf kind of nonsense is that?!?!

Cheating brought Mike attention, the same Mike that said he has no interest in the spotlight but only played live streamed games.

If a company came to me looking for funding and they suggested that 3% of their advertising plan was to use and/or create memes I'd kindly ask them to leave my office. I could not even take a monthly consulting fee from a company that clueless.

That is even a dumber suggestion than your initial posture of his innocence.

I see it now but who is it then.... What's in his hand? why is he talking to mike when mike is having trouble cheating with the RFID reader?

It's the perfect storm. In 1/3:

1. His opponents are more likely to make exploitable plays, thereby increasing his winrate.

2. His opponents are less likely to suspect anything.

3. His opponents are less likely to have the bankroll to be able to afford hero calls of his bluff-shoves on the river.

4. He can maximize value on every hand instead of having to cover his tracks a little more and make the cheating less obvious.

5. His opponents are likely to play like donks pre-flop, rather than isolating him and getting him into a lot of expensive heads-up pots against strong ranges where his implied odds are lower.

6. The casino is less likely to be tight on security, because it is such a low stakes game.

I dont doubt that but what this guy is saying is ludicrous. If live streams were so lucrative, HG and Commerce would be jumping in on it. LATB gets 2k viewers a night on avg and 4k+ on high stakes fridays, they get jungleman, hellmuth, esfandiari to name a few. It makes sense for the bike to do it since its the least popular of the three. Im not saying its not good marketing, it is, and HG and Commerce would benefit from a live stream, but to suggest a player could become a superstar and extort 1 million dollars by threatening to leave, or that there was some conspiracy to create a god of poker for monetary reasons other than the chips won at the table is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Here maybe this will help:

Pic 1 - You can see the white lights in his top lens, perfectly white - no blue

Pic 2 - You can still see the white lights in the top lens and the blue from his phone in the bottom lens

Pic 3 - He has moved more so now the overhead lights are gone and more of the phone is in his bottom lens

Pic 4 - You can see the blue light on his shirt - if you watch the video its not going to show up in his shirt as its too bright in there until its really close and his other arm is blocking some light

Wow, that would be amazing analysis if the script can accurately perform that and give all the stream URL timestamps. Rooting for a successful outcome there, good luck!
