Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

What I can't understand is why he looks down at his magic penis crotch phone so much. Once you know someone's cards, there'd be no reason to keep looking at it as frequently as he does throughout the hand unless you had the memory recall of a ******ed gnat.

Is he looking at a solver that's calculating equities or something, that would change as time elapses? So he's not just holly-wooding, he's waiting for the calculations?

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

The only reason Mike Postle played in that big game with Berkey is because he could activate god mode. A poor Postle who grinds 100 dollar donkaments would never fight it out with a Berkey to his left...!!???

Hes likely double checking suits. Etc... As time goes on he gets better at it and looks down less.

Also tricky to keep track of what everyone has, especially since so many pots go 3+ handed. Imagine trying to do this in PLO, must be a nightmare. I almost feel sorry for the guy

Mike says he drinks a bunch when he plays - maybe he’s just a drunktard when he’s loaded and he wants to keep confirming the holdings as the hand progresses

At the 38:13 mark on the DAT Poker Podcast Veronica stated that they would sometimes hang out before and after the games, go out to eat and sometimes go bowling together. (So IMO having Mike's phone number wouldn't be that big of a deal)

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

Reference the Mike Postle's UB playing days, Mike played in Russ Hamilton's Elimination Blackjack, on the televised Ultimate Blackjack Tour. (Mike finished 3rd in Tournament 1 of Season 1)

The Ultimate Blackjack Tour was a televised series of Elimination Blackjack tournaments that aired in syndication. It debuted on September 16, 2006. The show consists of a series of televised Elimination Blackjack tournaments. The winner of each weekly tournament returns for the final Tournament of Champions.

Elimination Blackjack is a tournament format of blackjack invented by Russ Hamilton, that was played on the Ultimate Blackjack Tour and in various casinos. It combines the game of blackjack with elements of No Limit Texas Hold'Em. Unlike Texas Hold'Em tournaments, players are still competing against the same dealer that is why the results of most players at the table are likely to be the same.[1] UltimateBet, a sponsor of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour, offered online elimination blackjack tournaments prior to bankruptcy.

He could easily afford to give higher stakes a go.
100s of thousands, when you win it over a few years and have a child, isn't a lot of money, certainly not enough to risk 50k taking a shot at 10-20. He's not alone in the world.

Further, although he doesn't seem at all self aware to me, he probably understands that the number of fish in his game is very high compared to the relatively sophisticated whales in higher stakes. Now you may think it's an easy transition but in reality it's a huge risk.

With his skill set, even if he's legit beating his game, he'd get crushed at higher stakes. It's not possible he knows this? If 10-20 is that soft, whey aren't the Brad's and Italian NYers crushing it?

In short, the viewers asked "Why did he just call?" and it appears that JFK directly went out and asked Postle about it, I presume that in their short conversation (JFK had to get back to the chatbox) Postle flat-out lied to him about his holecards. JFK likely passed on that incorrect info about holecards to the chatbox thinking he was doing the viewers/commentators a favour. JFK wouldn't know Postle was lying. He worshipped him like a God. In his naivety, he believed all of Mike's bullshit.
So.... just ask JFK about it and case closed?

(or maybe JFK just faked asking and Mike told him to lie?)

It cant be that easy to remember everyones cards in multiway pots. if had done it less he might have got away with it but he couldn't resist and did it in blatant spots.

God mode with dueces^

Watch this stream and just think of the camera angles. Seat 2 is perfect for Mike because when the action isnt on him or seat 1 the camera isnt in his view, and he can stare down at his phone for however long he wants.

This is a good point. It would be great if this leads to him being found out for past crimes as well. I have the feeling this wasn't his first rodeo.

Like Joey said 5 years ago, American's wanting to stay low key are up to no good.

This is THE HAND that made me 100% sure he was cheating.

No way he can justify this one.

There's no logic explanation to that, ever

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

Only found out about this whole thing yesterday and watched pretty much all the videos out there by now.

Absolutely disgusted by this guy and besides feeling sorry for anyone that lost money to him when they seemingly never had a chance to begin with, I also feel sorry for this man's family.

Wonder if there's some guys he beat along the way he wished he hadn't beaten by now...

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

Wow 5k posts lol good chance someone has raised this but....is this the tip of a small but growing iceberg of live game cheating?

-Seems like a matter of time before someone develops some dream machine sunglasses /headphones combo

-How many private games out there already have hidden cameras allowing cheats access to hole cards.

If you had an inside person...even in a casino getting something set up seems possible. How easily someone could crush if they knew the hole cards of say sets 4-6 with well positioned camera(s)

One thing to mention is that the poker graphics they use show how many “actual” outs your opponent has. So when mike glances down at his phone multiple times mid hand he could be checking that as well. The graphics is shown in the video below.

A single shared password for a WiFi network is horrible security for such an environment - there is absolutely no way these guys underwent anything resembling a security audit in that time because any decent auditor would find and fix that right away

An easy to guess password also means it could likely be bruteforced and cracked with some packet captures

He bets 5k into 2.3k OTR to fold me off a chop. I remember thinking how absurd this HH was when I saw it 30 minutes later on the stream, but at the time had barely played with him and assumed he was clicking buttons and got lucky. Link to clip -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_Dza9Z8LMo&t=258m45s

This is something I mentioned to Doug, Joey, and Veronica last week. If you're going to play in "God Mode" knowing equities taking into account dead cards makes a lot of sense. I haven't seen this done on any other stream.

Is it Postleble that Mike has a microphone planted in the commentary booth? When commentating on hands (I've done so myself), commentators often call out what everyones holding. That way he doesn't need an accomplice.
