Stones Live is now the number 1 watched poker streaming show in America. At least on YouTube. Congrats to Justin and team!

The problem is people tried to do it the right way. Many people had suspicions. Veronica brought it up to management. Nothing happened.

The reason we've blown this open so fast is thousands of people are looking into it. If it was done in secret, this would have taken a lot longer, and more people would have been scammed out of money they may never get back.

The simplest Occam's Razor solution to me is that he was able to access the software on some kind of administrator level and could just see cards associated to each seat. Anyone in the back room with permissions to this information would be able to see who else is accessing it so they are almost certainly in on it as well.
We know that dealers communicate with the booth in real time to fix stacks etc, so that mechanism is there too. We also know that they banned phones from the tables, so a cheat would be looking for a secondary method, and real time spoken relay is/was available. The headphone eventually became necessary, though the bulge is evident before the ban went in place.

I'd be interested in hearing from the PokerGFX people if their program was written with accessibility options for hearing impaired, to do text-to-speech for hole cards etc. If so, it could a way to not have to stare at his crotch as much.

I have been in the Casino Industry for the past 3 years. Dealing poker in Las Vegas at the Main Event for the WSOP, and locally for Stones Gambling Hall. Even had one hand while cheating he wasn't able to look at his phone, and he folded a chop with a freeroll. Then peeks down at phone after he folded and just looks so disgusted...

The simplest least detectable method is for someone to dictate to you what other players have and what your equity is in the hand. The whole time they cheated nobody recognized that he had anything in his hat and even today after all the evidence people still dispute that he had anything in his hat. That's incredibly undetectable. When he uses that method he looks like he's just thinking, not cheating.

Contrast that with him looking down at his phone all the time. That is super obvious at times and it would be very easy to catch him in the act. I imagine when people started accusing him of cheating, looking down at his phone all the time was no longer that great of an option especially if they were somewhat starting to enforce the no phones at the table rule.

It's a huge security vulnerability even though generally VNCs are used for *added* security.

EDIT: I am speculating that this is how the cards are being relayed though, but the mechanism is 100% there, objectively.
Everything you wrote perfectly matches. The Poker GFX Manual describes the calibration procedure on page 18 and seems to require a lot of physical interaction between being at the table and clicking controls in the software, so it makes sense they'd want to VPN from the table rather than walking back and forth to the computer.

Calibrate Table

When a table is powered up for the first time, the Reader Module must be calibrated. This procedure is necessary to ‘teach’ the Reader Module about how the table is configured.

➢ Once this procedure is complete, the configuration is stored permanently in the Reader Module. This means that you never need to carry out the procedure again, even when re-installing PokerGFX on another computer.

• Ensure that there are no playing cards on the playing surface.
• In the Server application, click the ‘Settings’ button to reveal the settings panel. Click the ‘System’ tab. Locate the ‘Calibrate Table’ button and click it.
• You will be asked to place any playing card on each player antenna in turn, followed by the muck antennas, and finally the board (community card)
antennas. Depending on the hardware configuration of the table, there may be 2-10 player antennas, 1-4 board antennas, 1 or 2 muck antennas and 1-10 player UPCARDS antennas.
• Follow the instructions on screen, and move the card (any playing card) to each antenna as requested.
• Press the ‘Skip’ button to move to the next antenna group to suit the table configuration. For example, the software supports up to 10 players, but your
table has only been built for 8 players. When the software asks you to move the card to player #9 (which you can’t do since there are only 8), press the ‘Skip’ button. Players 9 and 10 will be skipped, and the sequence will move on to the muck antennas. Similarly, if only 1 muck antenna has been provided in the table, press the ‘Skip’ button again when prompted to move the card to muck antenna #2, and it will be ignored.
• Each antenna position can be installed as either standard (1 antenna) or double (2 antennas acting together to create a double sized reading area). Ensure the ‘Double Antenna’ checkbox is set accordingly before moving the playing card, as instructed, to the next position.

The mere fact that there are some poker player ITT that believe he is innocent shows that the obvious is lost on some that handle some concept of the game. To a lay person......might create migraines. Attorneys have stated here the difficulty in taking the case based on complicated math. Negreanu gave an in-depth analysis on his Twitter page. "He cheated", entire dialogue. Postle isn't going to try and convince 12 experienced poker players he did not cheat. His attorney will seek jurors that seem capable of having doubt.
Easy solution, just force everyone in the world to become familiar with poker before the trial. Win for the poker world, loss for Mike Postle.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

to all of you analyzing tons of his hands, I don't have much time myself but you may also focus on :

-Hands he's not involved in : he says he's addicted to his phone...how does he act when not in a hand does he still have the itchy crotch etc

-simple hands vs complicated hands : does he check his lap more often on "complicated" hands (4 to a flush, multiple players, straight cards). Especially 4flush or flops with FD because I don't expect his buddy to necessary text him the exact suits preflop. How different is it in simple spots (when against AA or heads-up paired boards)?

I want to throw this out there. The video in question, the card reader is down, and Postle is seat 5. The guts of both the auto shuffler, and the stream equipment, are most easily accessed if seat 5 gets up.

It seems pretty normal (edit: for technical staff) to have a conversation at the table when the reader dies. The conversation is literally about 8 seconds, and he goes back to wherever he came from.

Also, he was in town and working during Postle's inability to run like God in June/July 2019. Justin wasn't.

We need at least circumstantial evidence to involve Lance. He is part of the technical team and helped set up the live stream, which is fair to include him in our evaluations, but we need at least some shred of circumstantial evidence to start making accusations... and we should look for them.

Cards on the table, I am extremely biased. I know Lance well. There's been no weird influx of money, and he is a person with a ton of integrity. I personally don't think he's involved in any way, shape, or form.

It's absolutely correct to put anyone with access to the technical side under the lens, but we still need specific proof, even if only circumstantial, to cast accusations.

"They" for sure isn't everyone with access to the back room because there are quite a few episodes after July 2018 where he doesn't cheat at all.

Best guess is mid September, when it became gossip at the tables. Initially, I was lead to believe it was due to a LATB incident (which I still don't know anything about, so I'm assuming it was Veronica's accusations). I could be way off, but that's what I remember about the first time a phone ban was discussed.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

Looking at the Poker GFX Manual, the table display screen with all the players' cards looks rather tight and small - seems like it would be difficult to read the entire table's worth of cards from the small screen of his smartphone VPN'ing into the server running GFX.

I wonder if Mike zoomed in on an area of his phone's screen to get a better look, which would make the cards bigger but limit which seats he could see. Has anyone done analysis on whether he utilized God modes against particular seating positions for a given session?

Here's one of the GFX screens with the cards (from manual). Not sure if this is the one they'd have up in the normal course of the game or if there would be a different screen where the cards are shown larger:

On almost any VNC client, and definitely in the particular one they use, you can pinch/expand to focus in on a part of the screen you want. It's a trivial problem to solve.

I use a different client for my home setup which has a 4k monitor, and a secondary monitor, which I can navigate just fine from my VNC client on my phone. It's never the easiest thing, to do work while VNCed on a phone, but getting things to display is really simple.

Agreed, but the point is if he has to zoom then he likely wont be able to see the full table's worth of cards...he probably zooms in once and leaves it there otherwise he'd have to keep touching down to his phone to pan/zoom. Which is what lead to my question - if he is zoomed and can only see a few seats' worth of cards then we should be able to tease out a correlation on which seats he executed God mode against in a given session (or more specifically, between each instance where he is seen manipulating his phone where he could change which seats he's zoomed to).
