The IRS defense. Makes sense if he’s dumping off a share of winnings to accomplices.

He lost all his winnings in a boating accident.

This is worth spending 20 seconds to watch:

Click ahead to 1:03:00, look at how he adjusts his hat and then looks down into his lap at 1:03:10.

The fact that this dude thinks it's a good idea to do the Matusow interview to defend himself just shows the extent of his pathological issues. He's absolutely going to sink himself with this delusion that he's smarter than everyone else and can keep fooling everyone despite all the evidence.

Keep up the good work, people.

Mike Matusow: I know that different angles can show different things and different, you know the way the lighting hits or whatever, but...have you seen pictures of the hat thing going around?

So according to Postle, Stones did this to him to get on Sports Center?

If I was cheating, I wouldn't want the casino drawing a lot of attention to me either.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

He wins a big pot and then the stream misses the part where he gives the players their money back. So he only won at about 300bb/100 instead of 600bb/100. Oh, wait. The starting buy-in is off, so in reality he is only winning 250bb/100.

First of all a single video stream is not an unusual amount of data, and it could have been mirrored to a random cloud endpoint (not in the casino) that Mike's phone reached out to.

OR, JFK just watched the stream and sent Mike texts or messages on the Signal app.

The point is, JFK communicated to Mike's phone (when he was doing the crotch looks), then later to Mike's hat (when he had the stuffed hat). That's the Occam's Razor explanation, not crazy James Bond gadgets that snuck around an innocent JFK.

Re: Mike Postle cheating allegations (FAQ in first post)

So watching the Mike Matusow podcast, and it sounds like Postle thinks that people got his winnings total from the Stones broadcast, and their graphics of the win/loss at the end of the stream. It's my understanding the person who made the spreadsheet actually skimmed through every hand and tallied it up.

I don't think Postle realizes how much work people put into looking into this. His defence is just so bad, and it's also just irrelevant as he's deflecting from all the actual accusations thrown at him.

He's not saying he lost tons in the first 15-30 minutes. He's saying they walk around and get the starting chip count during the 15-30 minute warmup session while they're gambling lower stakes and before they finish adding on. So their actual starting stack when the show airs can be significantly different from the displayed starting stack on screen. His rationale sounds possible, as I haven't really checked. You'd have to go in to the beginning of a stream, compare the # showed on the screen then count his chip stack and see if it's different.

If his overall wins are significantly lower, I'd be significantly less inclined to think he's cheating. The whole case against him cheating hinges on his overall winrate and stats, and not him playing individual hands strangely.
He has admitted to it being around 125k. So we can safely assume that is the floor.

Even if the estimates are 50% off, it would still mean its 190k.

There is so much footage out there its gonna be so hard to track any rebuys and get a totally accurate figure.

Also this is a 4 hour live stream of 1/3 and 5/5, where he has booked like 30 winning sessions out of 32 booking 190k at least.

.
How does a technician working at the casino miss this? Especially during an audit?

He probably dusted off 125k playing off stream but just didn’t mention it that way

Sounds like he's trying to give Mike a defense for why his tax returns are reporting lite to me, just my opinion.

Sure, but every single hand is recorded. One can count the chips being put into the pot and removed from the pot to determine how much a player has won without even looking at the chip stacks.

If he has accomplices, he needs to dump their share of the money to them through poker to minimize his taxes. Otherwise, he gets stuck with declaring the full amount.

First of all, again, maybe we can say its even simpler and JFK just sent messages on Signal.

BUT, a "technician at a casino" would not necessarily notice that JFK mirrored the stream somewhere else. It would be a small software configuration and a negligible amount of network traffic.

Who is this "casino technician" that was monitoring JFK the whole time? I don't even think this technician that JFK is accountable to exists.

The audit was LED BY JFK. The investigation was led by the main suspect, that's why the simplest explanation is that the person who ran the stream, and led the investigation into the security of the stream, and has desperately tried to downplay the accusations, is in the inside man. Every theory that has an innocent JFK involves ridiculous hoops to sneak around JFK. Every theory that involves guilty JFK is simple - JFK fed the info to Postle and JFK wasn't accountable to anyone.

That was a terrible interview. Got high. Couldn’t get out questions. Interrupted him. Didn’t press obvious lies. Did 0 prep work. What an embarrassment to the poker community.

He's blaming "them" for doing nothing wrong or illegal. He's essentially just deflecting. Everything he says is a deflection from the truth. He wants to focus on chip count discrepancies because they are immaterial to whether he is guilty.

Its cash, do Cali rooms track this?
He could also be paying his accomplices with chips, and they get someone else to change them up.

no, this has already been covered in the thread. Postle is notorious for instantly quitting the game when the stream goes offline. Entire time I felt like this was one of the shadiest aspects because what winning player quits that type of game with those stacks and the edge he's flexing on stream!?

The type of winning player that just wants the glory and fame that comes from crushing on stream. Oh wait, Postle just said he has never wanted that. One would wonder why he is playing on stream at all then. Surely these games run regularly off stream.
