Looks like a mistake by the author of the article. I'm not saying you are implying this, but Veronica didn't do anything wrong by going only to Justin (if that's what she did). The appropriate parties at Stones was surely aware when they engaged their lawyer to conduct their "investigation."

The article also refers to JFK as the "former tournament director at Stones" - can anyone confirm whether he is still employed there?

There have been no criminal charges or investigations over this? Just a civil lawsuit? WTF is the California gaming commission doing?

Justin is former tournament director, but now working at Stones on the 12 AM to 8 AM shift or something like that.

Why hasn't Stones sued both the villains?

That would be tantamount to admitting cheating took place while they are still a defendant in a civil lawsuit. Admitting their own employee took part in the scam is not a good look when their investigation found that no cheating occurred.

Because neither has much money and Stones does. Plus Stones doesn't want to admit anything went wrong while it is being sued.

JFK is working the night shift, because they don't want to admit there was a problem. Once the lawsuit is settled, JFK will likely be laid off.

They involved an attorney that Stones had used before. It would be pretty bad for them if JK could initiate that and announce the results and upper management wasn't aware/involved.

I know he was brought in for the latest investigation after everything had hit the fan.
I didn't realize that he had been brought in for the first investigation.

Was just going by memory, so I could be wrong, but I thought that was one of the criticisms of their "independent" investigation -- that it was done by their own lawyer.

The coronavirus

Was there ever a "first" investigation, I know JFK told Veronica it had been investigated, but was he lying, as I haven't seen any evidence that any investigation had taken place, and think he was just saying that to try to reassure her her fears were unfounded.

They announced it on their own Twitter feed, so if JFK lied, it seems Stones as a whole was in on the lie. If JFK acted on his own by lying about the investigation and tweeting about it from the official Stones Live Poker Twitter account without Stones management being aware, shame on them.


That was tweeted less than 24 hours after Veronica publicly announced her suspicions in the tweet below. Stones' tweet seems to refer to the initial (and only?) investigation.

unless he is sneaking in the back door and working in some back office that nobody is aware of, the people who play there, who have talked to the staff, say that he is not working there (being on staff is a different issue). where did you hear this?
