So I did a small bit of sleuthing on the 86o vs 96s hand, in which the video technician changes Postle's cards from 8
6
to 9
8
. Allegedly, both the 8
and 9
in this deck were assigned improper codes which caused them to register as the 8
or 6
.
I fast forwarded exactly 4 hands in the stream, and what did I discover? Lo and behold, on the river, the 8
drops, and it is correctly registered in the graphics! Since this was an even number of hands since the 86o hand, I am certain that the same deck is being used. This absolutely discredits the claim that Postle had flopped an open ended straight flush draw.

This seems to indicate that Postle purposefully lied to the floor tech about his cards. Likely because he realized how jaw dropping his play would seem to the stream viewers. This is super suspicious!
I suspect they will change their story to say "well, actually, Postle had a different combo of 89". I will keep checking the video to see if I can rule out the possibility that all the other suits of 8 or 9 were improperly coded. In particular, it will be easy to rule out that Postle had a straight in this hand if I can check that all 4 suits of 9x were properly registering in that deck.
For example, in the same hand posted above (Postle 7
6
versus AA), the 9
on the turn is registering properly. Now I just have to look for the other 3 suits.
