Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer HORSE chat

Whatever David Singer is doing, but with his rant Mikey made FT look bad. That's why we're reading this thread now. I totally agree, that this matter should be settled personally.

Interesting read tho.

Singer is currently sitting at 2/4 with Hansen and Oppenheim and is playing the HE round. Haven't seen him sit out yet.

wow, 2k/4k HORSE going with Singer, Oppenheim, and Hansen right now. 08 atm and Singer is playing.

Singer just put in a ton of bets 3 ways on the river and got scooped in an 82k pot.

Would have been more hilarious if every other player at the table, except the one with the biggest edge in stud, sit out the stud rounds and enjoyed Mr Singer get demolished for ten hands.

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer HORSE chat

Online poker is very diferent from live poker, and many things considered bad etiquette in a live casino are just normal in online poker.

A lot of things happen online that are not possible to happen in live casinos, and probably won't be very popular among the other players if it happen.

Examples:

- Taking notes at the table easy to do online not so easy to do live
- Shortstacking hit and runners changing tables all the time
- Multitabling imagine a guy doing this in a live casino (i already saw people playing in 2 roullette tables)
- Software aids and datamining
- sit out sit in every time you want
- a lot of sh*t can be said in the chat
- etc...

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer HORSE chat

Sitting out for certain games in HORSE is very bad etiquette. Hoss has been talking about this for awhile, Matusow is correct, and if anyone was out of line during that convo, it was Singer making personal attacks on Mike.

Hoss's livejournal:

20 March 2008 @ 06:32 pm
Pet peeve
I've been playing a fair bit of horse lately and I'm really peeved by the guys who play every round and then sit out the hold em, which is my strongest game by far. Matusow, the sweetheart that he is, berates these players and tells them how unfair it is for me. He's wrong, of course. The more shorthanded the hold em game, the more edge I have, so expectation-wise, I'm pretty happy as long as at least one person plays. However, it really irks me that they violate the spirit of the mixed game. I can't think of any really *good* automated options as there are plenty of good reasons for players to skip some hands here and there. The best policy is for a site to publicize the rule that players in a mixed game should make an effort to play all of the games and then punish repeat offenders.

29 March 2008 @ 12:42 am
more horse shenanigans
While playing 3 handed 500/1k HORSE on tilt tonight, there was more, worse game-avoiding scummery. I was playing with TeeDitty and bixiu and when we got to the hold em round, they each alternated sitting in without posting their blind, cycling through all the hold em hands without having a single hand actually dealt. This is textbook collusion: two players working together to increase their edge and decrease mine. I emailed tilt about it and I'm continuing the process of winning all their money. I think the proper response is for tilt to debit their accounts the amount they should have posted in blinds and credit them to me. Opinions?

Bart, if a player feels his best game is stud, he should only play on the stud tables. Playing HORSE and sitting out on your weaker games is not only bad etiquette, it is bad for the game. The games may break up and it sets a bad example, as a red pro, to others players on FTP.

Mikey seems to be a great guy, but he does slander other players a lot. So sue me that I won't take his word for anything.
Ummm, Yeah. I actually saw this happen again yesterday, he sat out on the last hand of Stud/8, Skipped Holde'em and Omaha/8, then came back a couple of hands into the Razz round. Then Hoss said something and left.

And why would Hoss lie about it?
But.
DUCY David would have a reason to lie about it?

David Singer is always involved in something shady or unethical, and yet has the balls to be a rule monger and call other people out.....I love it!

One-liners, gotta love'm.

As said before, Singer probably did not deliberately sit out in the weaker games. But even if he did, it would NOT be angle shooting. Here's what an angle is:

http://www.pokernews.com/pokerterms/angle.html

Sitting out during your weaker games does not match these criteria.
much better to say nothing than to say something ******ed.

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer HORSE chat

I don't know if it's TOTALLY bad on the equiette scale (I think berating players is worse online), but it seems extrodinarily nittish to me to sit out your weakest games, especially online behind a computer where you can shut off chat (although Singer didn't because he LOVES to get his 2 cents in) and not have to deal with scrutinty at the table from the other players.

It's almost like talking to a girl online, seeing her picture, only to end up meeting a 52 year old dude. Very disingenious to only play your best games under the guise to play them ALL, IMO.

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer HORSE chat

There seems to be a lot of anger and hate at 2+2. The attacks and amount of overly negitive statements can only happen in two places;
1. A mob.
2. The internet.

When I see David Singer at tournaments and in casinos many people approach him and ask for his autograph, a picture, or just want to ask him a question. The popularity of poker plays in public has always surprised me, and when I see Singer he seems very popular.

I play in many WPT and WSOP tournaments. I have played with David Singer often. He is one of the most professional people at the table. He is respectful of others and treats people well. He once correct a dealer at his expense. I am not friends with him, but I suspect most of you don't know him.
