Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer

if u have ever played mixed games...u have learned that!

A) players tighten up, walk, or leave a session on their weak games
B) players often jab each other, 'call each other out on the walking/smoking, etc'
C) as a group plays together it becomes evident to most of the regulars 'who does what, and what all seem to prefer'... they police themselves.

I'm a fan of SINGER and MATUSOW. This exchange was F**King hilarious.

Mikey was being Mike The Mouth, and Singer had to pull the 'drug card on him'...an addicts worst fear. I remain convinced that David is doing what is accused (avoiding flop games), that THE MOUTH was speaking the sentiments of a percentage of the regulars, AND...these are the kinda stories that make poker a game for the ages!

AVOIDING your weak games routinely, systematically, and repeatedly are considered BAD FORM, no more.

You'd think that a guy who FT'd the 50k HORSE two years in a row wouldn't ***** out of HO.

Seems like it'd be cool if they just completely randomly assigned the game each hand and just make it more clear on the table what game they're playing.

Poor form for a Red to cut angles (corners wth you want to call it) like that. So many ppl watch the games it just encourages nittyness and such. Think if someone did this in your home game...i think reds need to be held to a higher standard then reg players.

I don't get it. Why is Singer criticised?

Cash game is about making money. Period. If he has an edge against H.O.R.S.E players by only playing his better games, then he is doing exactly what cash games are made for.

H.O.R.S.E is a tournament format. Stop whining just because it does not work out in cash games.

Wow, unbelivable that Mike writes this in the chat instead of just dealing with this issue personally. Anyway I love Mike

In a live cash game the floor person would tell him to play all the games or leave the table. He should be warned by the site.

I see ... so someone would count the hands, and if he does not play at least xy%, he has to get up and leave ...

If no one can come up with a rule to avoid exploitation, then that is not Singer's fault. At the moment he is doing everything right.

This is not sports, people. Fairplay in poker means not to insult others, no string bets, that sort of things. Deliberately playing your better games and avoiding your worse games is still fair. Change the rules or shut up.

Does FTP chop off your hands when you become a red pro? Or are they trying to master the art of elbow typing.

LOL. I happened to rail for about 45 minutes yesterday not knowing anything about this controversy. When it was changing to razz I wrote "I bet Singer's coming back for razz". And that's what he did.

Don't talk about something you don't understand. If you did this in a casino and the other players complained, you would not be allowed to play again in that game unless you were such a huge fish for the casino they would say it's okay. Do you think someone could walk into Bobby's Room in a PLO/Holdem mixed game and only play the PLO hands because they only have an edge in that game? Not a chance. Someone valuable to the casino would say one word and they'd tell you to play every game or leave.

^^This. Mike's other point (which he didn't make diplomatically, LOL) is that Singer has other responsibilities to FT as a pro. If players got in the habit of sitting out their weaker games, the HORSE cash games would dry up quickly. That's not in the interest of FT and Singer is being paid to work in the interest of FT, not against it.

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer

Matusow has a point...the whole marketing pitch to Full Tilt is to "play, chat, win with the pros"...if you just want to play against other online players, then you can go to other sites....but at Full-Tilt, you play against their stable of professionals...so David Singer's actions are inconsistent with the product Full-Tilt is selling--the opportunity to play against the best professional players...David Singer ought not to be in the HORSE if he's not good at it...let him just play in his specialities...

Mike calling him out in public is not good...the matter should be handled privately as public outting damages the image of Full-Tilt--now several folks start thinking Full-Tilt is not providing the product claimed...but perhaps the leaders at Full-Tilt have a reason, such as David is a big owner, or has something on the other owners, is connected somehow to one of the big owners, etc or the leaders just bad...

in my experience in business frictions often develop between employees but boil over into a public confrontation only when managment did not take action to deal with complaints/greavances involving the participants...i would suspect the matter was probably discussed with Full Tilt and nothing happened...its time for Howard L & Chris F to sack up and make a move...either move David off of HORSE, or fire David and/or Mike...

I am sorry, but actually you are the one who does not understand.

For quite a while there was no strict rule about offside in soccer. There simply was no need. Then soccer got very popular, and people realized that much of the game's appeal was lost because of the "kick throughs", so they invented the offside rule. Still no need for it in a game among friends.

The same is true here. As long as H.O.R.S.E cash is played live, there were so few playing it that hardly anyone dared to exploit the game. After all, exploiting a game in a casino is dangerous; look what happened to the MIT team.

But now H.O.R.S.E cash is played online; the number of players must have increased 100fold. Now there is a need for a rule that prevents exploitation.

But until then - money up for grabs. End of.

Mike Matusow: lol
Mike Matusow: i am the site

I love Mike Matusow.

NO IT ALL is JC Tran.

I thought Tim Phan was Jigga100, but he could also be LoLiNa. I do know Matusow has Tim Phan on his AIM, because of an incident where Tim gave his account name to Mike in the chat box, and was quickly flooded by instant messages from the rail.

I'm guessing JC Tran and Hoss complained, if LoLiNa is telling the truth.

Re: Mike Matusow and David Singer

A few thoughts.

Mike's overall actions on the site, on television, playing live, etc., make any sponsor look bad.

Mike doing this on the site is bad for the site.

David Singer made the final table of the WSOP HORSE final table in 2006 and 2007, therefore, I doubt he is sitting out games. Although I can't know if Singer is sitting out a certain game, he s known as a stickler for rules. Therefore, I doubt he was angle shooting. Furthermore, he has a new baby during this years WSOP, so I assume he must sit out more often then he would like.

But since "Mike is the site" he and everyone better be careful.

I couldn't disagree more. It's Mike being Mike that got him the sponsorship in the first place, and continues to make him a favourite among viewers, and the people producing the telecasts.

He's not the site, but he's equally as big of a draw for the site as Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Chris Ferguson, and Patrik Antonius. Maybe more in some cases.

Bad reality television gets old and an annoys people. When people first saw Mike they found his behavior funny and interesting. It certainly made him stand out. However, his consistent negative attitude, and consistently trashing other people, including customers of FT and "co-workers", is a huge negative to me.

Initially, watching Mike (or Tony G) was somewhat fun, now I dislike it. I think he can only act negatively and trash others for a short period before people think he is just a jerk and are no longer interested in watching him. It has become very distasteful for me.

And he is str8 to the point with what he says, maybe its not the most sophisticated language he uses but all the arguments are valid. Playing HORSE and siting out during your bad games is angelshooting, if someone feels he is worse in some of the games he may play them tighter and no one will say a word but siting out is just a huge abuse.
