Why does Stox want to be associating themselves with a cheating partner?

It's legit. But there doesn't seem to be any benefit to subscribers. You still have to pay the monthly fee for both to get all the content if I am reading the posts correctly.

Members of each site still need to subscribe to the other site to watch videos from the other site, but they can subscribe at a discount.

Wow, sounds like they are in trouble. Are they rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic at this point?

quite the opposite -- we think it's important to have a low cost (stox, now w/ no sign-up fee) option in the training market that focuses mostly on small and medium stakes content. it's also more efficient to run multiple sites together rather than both be spending resources on the same things.

in the short term, members will enjoy access to some videos from each site (~10 videos for free on each site), and also heavy discounts (up to 50%) if they would like to add another membership. stox members will also enjoy 11 new coaches that were added today, including pokey, who many on 2p2 know as a wonderful uNL/SSNL poster (seriously, check him out).

in the long run, you'll see a more narrow focus at each site, which will result in better content for the subscriber. this really is a win win for poker players and stox/CR.

Not everybody wins.

When pokerfox.net joined forces with PokerXFactor.com all current pokerfox members got a membership to pokerxfactor of the same length, and PokerXfactor membership was more expensive.

It seems that some are more greedy than others.

this appears to me to be more of a strategic partnership than an actual merger. It looks like the site's are going to remain separate and will not have access to most of the other side's content. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

Back in my day we had scavenge poker tips from internet message boards where half the people didn't know a check-raise from their own *******! My time is worth in excess of $1000/hr, and for $28 a month you will receive a few new videos by me, each of which took several hours to make. That's a pretty damn good deal! Act now and as a special bonus we'll throw in, oh, 40 other videos from people who crush poker in a similar manner. Kids these days

Will this merger reduce the quality of the coaching on Stoxpoker? Please don't replace the pool of elite coaches on Stox with small stakes grinders. Or, if you do, just hook me up with a free CR subscription and I'll call it quits.

Merger cliff notes:

No signup fee at Stoxpoker.

Discounts for either site if you have a subscription at the other one.

Even more coaches at Stoxpoker, even more videos.

Merger cliff notes cliff notes:

You get more stuff for less money.

We didn't merge with CR because we're trying to cut corners, we did it because we're committed to doing this coaching thing better than anyone else. That's how we roll.

FWIW I'm not against this merger, I was merely seeking assurances about the quality of the product, i.e keep them NL coaches you already have.

I'm curious where Cotton fits into this, but they've formalized James D and Hunter as featured coaches as well as adding a bunch of new ones. I checked out the new FR coach last night and thought he was solid.

As an active stox member, this seems like a positive development to me. Time will tell, of course, but I'm excited to see the improved focus and also cross pollination from the two sites.

Oh, and...

Grudge match!

Grudge match!
