This is great news for people who want to play online and live in the U.S. Merge is the best option right now if you want to play tournaments online. Gl all, cross fingers for Full Tilt funds.

They stopped taking new US players for a few months. Players who were already in were fine. They apparently needed to get things better prepared (more support, payment processors etc) for the influx of US players.

Merge is definitely the best option at the moment for US players IMO.

Check times are around 3-4 weeks right now. Not as fast as stars used to be but about half the time Merge checks were taking a few months ago.

I guess nooone knows if the feds are targeting Merge except the Feds. But my guess is that theyre nowhere near as big as Stars and FT were so theyre not the juicy target thats worth putting money and manpower into investigating. Also, they arent buying off banks and miscoding transactions (thats why checks are taking so much longer) so they arent in clear violation of laws like Stars and FT were.

Only major problem that ive seen is that if you request a check you could end up getting a gift card instead. Ive received two checks like requested so far but i know others have gotten the gift cards which can be a problem for some people.

For those of you in the US who have deposited onto a Merge skin post-black Friday, what is the easiest method to get money onto the network? Some friends of mine and I have been having trouble trying to deposit on Bodog with "vanilla" VISA cards and the like, so we were wondering if a reliable/easy depositing method exists for the Merge sites.

My Visa card worked just fine, seems like it has to be credit though.

Ah, I see. Mine is debit, and can be run as credit, but I'll have to see if its a viable option for Merge. Thanks for the response.

As has been discussed before I am sure: How are US players feeling about the possibility of the FED putting a hold on Merge accounts a few months from now?

Surely a site this small would either repay pennies on the dollar or simply not repay at all?

(Still feeling burned and skeptical after FTP but dieing to get back to the tables)

Freerolls.

I used to say "I never withdraw, I only deposit."

Nowadays, I don't even deposit, so my saying is history.

Doing my own Chris Ferguson zero-to-hero challenge! Fun!!

Even tho I now have a nice online roll again, I still don't ever intend to withdraw. I view it as "funny money and am just thankful to David Jung at Hero for being so generous with the freerolls on his merge skin.

Can anyone recommend a Merge site which allows both small-limit CC deposits and has rakeback? I know of skins which offer one or the other, but not both. If you know something that fits this bill please don't post here, but send me a PM instead. Thanks!

As for the question of whether or not it's safe, all I can say is keep your money on the site to a minimum and you should be okay even if you lose whatever is there if/when it gets shut down.

RPM is what i would suggest, ive had a good experience with them so far but im not sure if you can get rakeback anymore on merge, i think the cutoff was the end of june or something but i might be wrong, id go to the RPM sponsored forum and maybe PM RPMseth about it.

So far all the merge support seems to go to Carbon and RPM. What other skins (perhaps not as good as Carbon or RPM) are worth playing on?

Personally I've heard good things about Lock and Black Chip
