He shows up at big tournament weeks but seldom plays the bigger events or even main events and he is impossible to say no to. Its very hard to keep him away from you once you have started a relationship and when ur unsuspecting in the beginning and its all dinners and smiles of course hes gonna be around ur house/hotelroom on different trips and if its true just need a few secs to put the trojan in.

Probably wont see him at any events for a while now...
This is why it pays to be an anti-social douchebag at poker events. Can't tell you the number of strangers who start to rail me deep in a tournament or at a cash game when I am up big that I have told to **** off. You know they are angling for something, most likely a loan or a handout, but whatever. I am always amazed by the Chino stories. Just tell these people to go F themselves and they will go away and look for another mark.

Post count 2. Not sure if extreme trolling or something of serious concern

The guys got some balls have give him that, you take a lot of high stakes players to the cleaners you should worry about getting messed up if caught.

if true that he took them for 2 million got think the guy is very smart

sucks for those that were cheated and if the law punish them for locking him in a room that is crazy as there obv no intent to hurt him or they never would took him to the police he would be in hole in desert some were.

Apparently Max is trying to bury and kill info of his dirty dealings online.. I know one poker forum was sent an email asking them to remove the thread about his criminal behavior that was there and curious if Mason or anybody here at 2+2 had also gotten an email from the same reputation site.. I would hope Mason and admins would be reluctant to cowtow to somebody trying to bury their crooked past.. If the guy has made things right and cleared the air its potentially a different story but somehow I have little doubt nothing has changed and this guy is hope 6 yrs people have forgotten about his actions and is trying to kill any stories out there from 2012 and such which exposed his antics using some third party site.. These sites have issues themselves where they've used tactics that if used by a collection agency would violate the FDCA and additionally I guess Max isn't aware that these companies have actually turned around and bit the client in the rear by threatening to not only undo the repairs they did if the customer tries to cancel monthly payments even if they don't need them anymore but in fact have committeed slander and liable by Doxxing their own clients looking for dirt and then anonymously releasing the information to force continued patronage by the people that hired them.. (if your curious google reputation.com on ripoff report its pretty scary)

how do you ever get caught doing this? i mean sure, finding the virus and seeing the install time is a good clue, but absent that, the only way to get caught is through using your advantage too obviously. seriously gotta be dumb to do that.

This guy has been playing almost every day at Aria. I showed the poker shift manager one of the stories from a Google search. He said he would look into it. Max is back at the tables today.

Probably very stupid question.. but if your Pc is password protected, could that stop this from happening? (Just seems very simple to prevent a Trojan - so not sure if these people can easily get around a password)

No that would make no difference, in this case the trojan installs a program onto your computer which is designed to secretly launch automatically when you sign in. Then, while you use your computer, it does things in the background like log your keystrokes, capture what's on your monitor, etc. and then sends the data to a third party.

Ty Editundo - but that's my point tho. To get to the stage of installing the software don't you need access to the pc? Or can you install it from the Bios? Thx

There are a lot of ways, the easiest being getting you to click a link. But you can also physically attach a device to a keyboard which tracks which keys are pressed and transmits the data via wifi. Then they will know your password the next time you sign in. There's also ways of doing it by just plugging in a usb and turning the computer on, but that's more difficult.

If you're sharing the same internet, there's also ways to gain access to your pc without knowing your password (depending on your security settings). That's why you shouldn't use public wifi.

Haha so basically don't let anyone use your poker computer. Tbh I never understood anyway why these ppl don't have 2 separate laptops - one for business / poker the other for casual. Ppl can use the casual but never the poker one. And then also make sure emails etc are only accessed on the business lapptop. - then if someone starts asking to use your business laptop.. we'll alarm bells are going to be ringing!

Just about any emergency boot disk will give read/write access to your computer files without having to login.
