I'm just freestyle guessing that the post is real.

The account's post history is consistent with "things Scott Ball might say" from that time period.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/s...rchid=63699650

Whether it's Scott physically typing out today's post or having it inserted via proxy...? I suppose we'll find that out once/if the referenced Twitch account goes live to answer questions (even those posed in this thread reportedly).

The VODs on the channel feature Scott.

Hi dhubermex:

I could possibly see him making that post, but not in this thread. So I wonder.

Best wishes,
Mason

Here's Scott Ball's VOD from last night's stream on WSOP.

I'm only 10 minutes in, so no idea what (if anything) was said.

From about 0:08:30-0:09:30 there's a mention of Doug & Parker Talbot.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/905751495 (0:08:30-0:09:30)

Scott says he acted immaturely while at Twitch and didn't give certain people enough credit for their content.

Scott says he saw Doug and Parker's tweets, and wishes he had handled the situation differently in hindsight.
---

EDIT: Nothing else that relates to this thread so far after 30 minutes. Most of Scott's commentary up to this point is audio-only, but Scott does appear at the beginning of the VOD. It's him, just without the beard etc. So far the best part of the stream has arguably been the copyrighted music.

Did he address any other issues on the rest of the stream?

I stopped watching it at the 30-minute mark and haven't brought it back up to the tabs yet. TBH I already got tired of watching Scott Ball a few days after this broke.

From what he said in the first 30 minutes, it didn't seem like there was going to be some big-ass who-made-who? egotistical, legacy-based sh--storm in reaction to The Mouthpiece episode. I was a bit concerned that might happen b/c of the hyping & name-dropping that went on in those longform appearances with Jeff (APR 2020) and Joey (OCT 2015). But hopefully no worries.

There are a lot of very talented content creators/individuals who have more than paid their dues and held up their end of the bargain on the Twitch platform... including within the Poker category. I'm happy Scott Ball left Twitch in 2018, as it means less grime (following Matusow's podcast) to be rubbed-off on the projects he was involved in. IMO the less Scott Ball is intertwined with collaborating within the category, or being aware of the goings-on for Twitch Poker, the better.

Just a bad situation all around, and I really don't know what to say about it other than I sympathize with the frustrations that have been expressed in this thread and by Mike Matusow. I looked into this originally b/c someone I think highly of virtually whispered in my ear about it.

Mike stated in that segment (video cued below --> 27:43-27:50) that the $1.5M-$1.8M is pretty much gone. With no chance of making it back. So idk wtf to say...

Personally I feel like this has run its course for the time being... at least now that the story has been relayed/timestamped and now that Scott has made a public appearance.

I don't want to be chasing after Scott Ball. There's no value in it from what I can tell. Plus, the moment I get on the phone/Skype here in Mexico and start whining/pouting (or simply cussing people out then hanging up), people are going to know about it.

I feel like I've personally dished out enough of some of that stuff over these past 5 years to last several lifetimes, and there's just nothing to be done (nor is there someone else to blame) as far as I can tell except to have someone "waiting on a wire" in perpetuity.

But obviously if someone else would like to follow-up or follow-through more thoroughly with relevant info, that's entirely that individual's prerogative.

Guy was on the latest episode of whatever the Poker Go lower stakes cash game is called.
Played with Berkey and Nick Schulman.
Kind of played like a guy who had a free 800K to mess around with...

Good to hear I guess. As long as that's what they want to do.

All things considered (like Scott's long tenure working on the Twitch platform and ongoing relationships with big name poker people), that might be a far superior option compared to a THIS IS SPARTA editorial approach. Although The Mouth's original harsh take is also very relatable imo.

It's really up to them how they want to handle it. They know their business.

Maybe there's some understandable discomfort in cases where drama from private games bleeds over into public outreach. Once you engage the public in such a manner... peers and observers alike are going to air their own takes.

Scott is still in charge of his talent agency, and some of those well known poker people are still collaborating with him.

I think that's cool. There's talent associated with that project who have nothing to do with this, and everyone knows that. It's a prudent move for investors/collaborators to support and bolster those individuals. It's merited imo.

And it's good to see investment coming into poker-related projects, regardless of whether that's from a public figure like Hellmuth or a poker exec (however/wherever that site happens to be licensed).

To think in the end Scott Ball would still be sitting pretty, playing for high stakes, and in possession of arguably one of the greatest poker "trade secrets" of all time... Phil Nagy's favorite alcoholic beverage.

Whatta game.

It's sad how true this is. Hellmuth is literally a walking billboard for some Bitcoin scam right now.

Plus, most in this community would rather blame the victim for getting scammed because it seems so easy to avoid scams in the first place.

He did one decent bluff but otherwise ran hotter than the sun against two better players 3 handed as well.
