When I was in London I went to see a poker tournament using the same order of cards at each table and you won by winning more chips than your opponent. I found some information when I came back here:

Will this idea ever take off? I thought it was a great idea, I hate bad beats

AKA duplicate poker (Hold'em).
Tried and failed a few times as an online game.

I'm not sure how this would be a great format for poker like it is for bridge etc.

In poker one of the main things you are trying to do is put the opposite player to a decision for all his chips. I feel like this game really limits someones ability to do that. I feel like this type of tourney would really just be a pretty good set-up for a lot of the aggressive online donkey types. Think about what would happen if everyone knew they had a free reload after they went busto. A lot of fishy types would just start jamming every pot and the game would be like play money games on zynga. It would be full of wanna be Isildonks just shipping because, "hey free reload".

if i'm not wrong, it's a team sports so donking of stacks would cost points and most likely the win ... short stack and deep stack play won't happen, but besides that players have to play 'serious' to win

P.S. If any kind of poker game makes it into the Olympics before the PPA can get poker legalized, Rich Muny should have to enter a dunk tank dressed up like a clown and let 2+2 have their fill.
