when I said that I was referring to taking no time to think about his turn decision and it was prior to river action. how's he making a read when he calls within 2 seconds? i'm not saying it's a fold but he could attempt to use his mega advantage of reads to figure things out.

It's Soooo awkward how he talks like the guy isn't 5 feet away. He's a sociopath

Maria Ho is sounds like a hostage reading a ransom letter
I love how they cut to Maria with no warning whatsoever. She often interrupts Ali as they cut to her.

Called himself a 14 time world champion and says he knows who the good players are so don't talk to him about rankings. All of this started because goose called his highjack opener on the button with Q8 suited.
There's like a 70% chance he actually believes these "kids" think the all time money list is important. It's not like they are doing it for the actual money or anything.

Now Phil has like 70K, raises and calls a 3bet for like $34K with Q4ss.
He can't be for real

lol despite my earlier post, Phil playing some godawful poker the last few hands... flatting Q4s to a 3! that cost him 20K of his 60K remaining stack

edit: then limps red AA with 10BB, checks 3-way flop through lmao

Now with like 38K, 7-8-9 BBs he limps AA
3 flop, checks back flop.

Won like 24K.

Phil irate that Dan says Phil could've checked back the A-hi flush draw on the flop, meanwhile he limped AA and checked back the flop
LOL

then berates Rast for folding the losing hand and dumps on the amateur businessman for not knowing all the combos that Hellmuth could've had

Phil starts playing like 75% of hands when less than 15 BBs.

that said, it's incredible how they have attained such strong results in live tournaments year over year for two-plus decades. i'd love to see a final table with a good mix of the old school guys (Hellmuth, Seidel, DN) and new gunners (Fedor, Ben86, Sontheimer)
the only oldschool player with good results in super highrollers is Seidel, and judging by the wy hes playing I wouldnt be surprised if he has done some theoretical work (and if not, he can clearly grasp fundamentals on an intuitive level, like Isildur). Hellmuth, Dnegs etc have no results in tournaments without tons of recreational players giving them chips. Sure, exploiting amateurs to the maximum is also an important skill moneywise, but it wont win you superhighrollers.

I don't think DN is +EV in fields like the poker masters or other super highrollers, but you can't say he doesn't have results in tournaments without tons of recreational players. At this years WSOP he cashed in 5 10k events and final tabled the 50k PPC. Those are not really amateur heavy events.

good point, but most of those events were non-holdem, I think he should be doing much better in non-holdem games, due to them being way less solved than holdem. I was refering to nlhe superhighrollers specifically.

Dnegs is and always has been very much a mixed game player. I honestly don't know why he thinks he can compete with high-level NLHE specialists.

Yeah watching Hellmuth play is absolutely painful. I would not back that guy in a 2006 cash game.

Listening to him talking about how his theoretical game is on different level then the rest was super cringe.

limping AA with <10 bbs is better than jamming imo

There isn't a poker news type site that has updates [I suppose]?

As I would love to refresh and see what is 'going down' - but haven't the time [or the $10 hmm] to watch it live

Best place, if any, for running updates?
