MasterCard no longer an option? MasterCard no longer an option?

02-03-2010 , 08:16 PM
hey i am new here and i tried to join marketplace but i havent been here for more than 6 months so i wont be approved.
i want to trade a $100 mastercard giftcard for $100 dollars on Absolute Poker. the card usually works on AP directly but their mastercard processor is down right now.
is there anywhere i can post to try and do this as a member less than 6 months?
i would have PMed a mod but i cant even do that bc i am new and have no PM priveledges.
thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

-sorry to post in news views gossip but it looks to be the highest traffic area so i thought it was my best shot at getting help.

Found this in the legislative forum about Mastercard today, this might be why you can't use it

ya mastercard sucks when using it to deposit online, try the visa ones they always work. Also if you just bought it you have to give it a lot of time to process and activate so sometimes just wait a while.

yea i figured it was something pretty big bc it wouldnt work on PS either. well it is still able to be used anywhere online so if any respected members with a lot of successful trades want this i will send gift card info first for a transfer on AP. thanks for the link

"A major form of depositing into poker sites, online casinos and credit cards is by using credit cards by US citizens. This method was blocked today by Mastercard after figuring out how gaming sites were manipulating the coding."

Wow this is bad news, let's talk about it.

I've never been able to deposit with a credit card, even back in like 03-04.

This is getting ridiculous, I am moving out of the country first chance I get.

And don't come crawling back either.

Ya, I just about give up. I know a lot of people say this but I'm pretty serious (can never be sure). Anyone know a good apartment or place that is renting right now in England/Britain/one of those islands?

Meh, maybe the grass is always greener but there's only one way to find out!

OP, why bother asking a bunch of strangers on the internetz? Just use it to pay a house bill and use that $$ to buy an All-Access Visa.

As noted in the first post (after merging threads), was that the MasterCard prepaid cards were now being blocked.

The first sentence in that article is well written. Bravo!

Mods, can't the misleading thread title be changed?
Most importantly this only affects MC, and only for a few weeks. New MC processors will be setup by month's end.

You are a ridiculous person because you think this is only going to affect MC users. Watch in the next couple of days when absolutely every credit card holder in America is barred from depositing on US sites.

Do you have any particular reason for holding these alarmist views? Even the article you linked says this has happened before and MC got around it in a couple of months.

I'm sure your "doomsday" scenario could come to pass, but it's far from the sure thing you're making it out to be.

see this is why every forum needs a cardcounter0, a brutal non-mod enforcer who stomps on R-Words like its his job.

I'm pouring an e-40 on the tubes in memory of that guy
