My first ever WSOP event was a 5K with Arnaud directly to my left. (and david baker, Barry greenstein the next 2 over, sigh).

The bigger the streams get in terms of buy ins the smaller the pool of players they have to pick from. Tons of people who dump big money in big games are super shady but if they get ratings they're not getting turned away for the most part.

Hello , like Arnaud Mattern I am french.
I can guarantee you 100% that he got caught cheating redhanded in a private game in France : He had cards in his sleeves . There are multiple witnesses. Many french regulars from Paris know about it.
And I am not mentionning cheating allegations in other countries like for example Malta.
In this situation with Wesley I don't know if he did anything but Arnaud Mattern is a well known cheat.

Because when you come public at cheaters , they try everything they can to hurt you. It happened to several french people who got ambushed because they reported the infamous 1,6 million € cheating at Partouche Poker Tour Cannes 2009 by Jean-Paul Pasqualini and Cedric Rossi where they signaled to eachother their hands during a final table and finished 1st and 2nd for 1 million € and 600k€ , after this victory Pasqualini won multiple sponsorship for Full Tilt and Unibet.

Coming back at Arnaud Mattern, (who was a pokerstars team pro in the past) , it is difficult to bring proofs with live cheating because you need to film them in the act, and also in France when someone get caught cheating there is little to no communication from the casinos or poker organisations. Usually the player is banned in silence and is never exposed in the medias.

LivePoker.fr (one of the french biggest poker media) made a news about the Wesley accusations and in the last part they mention Arnaud Mattern reputation, this is what they say :
