So, who's taking bets on how long it is until Isildur's done with his few hours of sleep for the week and is sitting at every PLO table 100/200 and up that Stars has?

no because isildur has been moving up in limits quite slowly and it has been working...no reason to change now

this. so many people don't get the concept of all in ev.

i think it would be better if HEM, PT3 came up with sklansky bucks... then u could also measure the running bad in non all in pots

imo only reason its taken so long to even get to 100-200 is he wasnt winning at first, he would have a nice session, then give it back etc. After booking the nice session couple days ago @ 25-50 he was @ 50-100 the next day. Then after crushing the 50-100 he was at 100-200 the next day 6 tabling, thats not slowly imo.

Also I <3 Isildur and its great to watch I was more poking fun at all the people saying stars or someone else has some sort of control over what stakes he decides to play when he sits down at his computer.

It's really messing with my head, going to sleep on a almost busted Isildur and coming back thinking that PTR messed up badly somewhere.

ISILDUUUUUUUUUUUUUR

Anyone know where Niki Jedlika has been lately? He was involved in some of the 100/200 PLO games a month or two ago but haven't seen him since.

I don't think "All in EV" is a particularly useful statistic. I only look at it when I want to make myself feel better, and say "Wow, I ran bad". It really only tells a small part of the story.

If you've been paying attention, Isildur1 hasn't exactly been crushing the games on PokerStars since being signed. In fact, he's been arguably a break-even/losing player (in an admittedly very high variance game).

So don't hate on him, or invent silly conspiracy theories. The guy did something legitimately amazing by having the mental fortitude to suffer a crushing -$450,000 defeat, with $6,000 left in his account, and ran that all the way back up to a $400k-ish profit. That was a $900,000 swing, from $6K left in his account.

It was seriously amazing. URNot has to be shaking his head in disbelief, too.

I don't know about that, I've run 4bb/100 under my expected winrate over my last 100k hands due to being under allin EV. This is pretty significant. With smaller samples a player's winrate can vary hugely due solely to allin EV.

have to admit, i would pay good money just to get a pciture of scotts face after he quit the session.........."he only had 6k.........."

Sure. But what does the statistic tell you? Okay, you ran bad. How does it help you?

You can run bad, and still not be playing well. You can run good, and be playing very good.

Other than as a curiosity, "okay, I ran bad", I think it's not very useful. There are other metrics recorded in HEM/PT3 that will give you a better idea of how you're actually playing, and how you might improve your game.

Knowing that you've run bad or good doesn't tell you anything that you can improve/change at all. There's no way to "fix" variance, you just have to deal with it.

Especially when you're all in as often as Isildur and Urnot.
