And Sky poker is pretty small so any publicity is good publicity for them.
I think there's a line to tread between letting someone who won a seat slip under a radar, and parading them round because he's part of the Sky Poker crew or whatever.

I also think there's something fundamentally wrong with them coaxing the players into getting behind him and keeping all of this 'behind closed doors'. The support he's been getting in the forums is a shame really, to which he deserves very little, if any at all.

You have a good point though, and heck, maybe it's been '+EV' for them to let him go deep in the main. I just don't think it's all that great of a move for their image, or the fanbase/players.

In spoken language, "have" is rendered as [v] , and upon hearing this, "of" is chosen as the closest matching word.

Most people do a lot of speaking and little, if any, reading and writing

This.

The US is most likely the country with the highest proportion of illiteracy among developed countries. Actually, probably even among 3rd world countries.
The level of education before college has to be worse than that of most African countries, maybe on par with that of Bangladesh?

Meh, but who cares? We have a great army, the best traders in the world and one of God's highest priorities is to look after the value of our currency. Woohoo, America!!!

-"We have a great army"

I laughed.
Anyway people quit de-railing the thread.

I understand people are conflating the contraction with the preposition, but the loss of something so basic as the verb in this case that everyone learns in elementary school is incredibly appalling. I just don't understand how it ever becomes ingrained in someone's mind that this is correct. It's as if someone all of a sudden believed that 2x2 equals 22.

^^I completely agree. My blood starts boiling when I read that type of stuff.

Furthermore, I think Sky Poker's censorship/tolerance towards this matter should somehow be included in the thread title.

They aren't analyzing the grammar of a sentence structure before saying anything.. nobody does that. Not to mention that many basic English constructs are illogical anyway.

Try searching 2+2 for "redic" or "rediculous", same class of mistake . They either just guess the spelling of something they've heard, or repeat errors they've seen other people make. They don't even realize that it's a situation where there could be a mistake, so they don't think about it.

and this is your business how?

In case you hadn't noticed, "poker pro" as a profession attracts a fairly high proportion of busto degenerate semi-criminal types to its ranks. Do you expect poker sites to do CRB checks every time someone wins a satellite?

If you don't like Skypoker, you can play elsewhere, instead of trolling their community about an issue that has nothing to do with you or them.

what a stupid paranoid conclusion - so anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint must have an ulterior motive?

Did you at least get a handy or bj in the hotel room from him?

davmcg is the balding skinny little pale faced twerp Sky_Dave. A guy who graduated to his current position from tea boy when skypoker realised they were paying someone to monitor their forum and be "community manager" (Sky_Rich) when they had a little power hungry nerd in their office that would do it for the sheer thrill of being able to remove posts and ban people.

FYI I am not a bitter victim of his reign of terror either, I have little to do with skypokers forum or community for the past few years.

No, but I expect that when a poker site tries to squash all discussion of the character of the people representing them, they can come up with a better reason than "that's in the past".

No idea who that is, but the balding skinny bit is remarkably accurate.

Marc told me indirectly (through a friend) that he would send the money when he landed in England as he was deep in the main event.

I decided to not post any more on the subject, but thanks for all the replies and PM's that I received and its nice to see that the poker community stands together in times like this.

He has now been in England for a while and even played a full schedule on Stars yesterday and I have yet to receive any money from him.

It feels very similar to the times where he promised me he would send the money "tomorrow" and it feels like he is going to continue to do this.

I really would like to put an end to this as it is really dragging on.

Thanks
Lewis

Its their ball, they can let who they like play with it. They don't have to justify anything to you, me or the facebook stalker. If you don't like it, have nothing to do with them.
