I got done for assault a few years back over a £50 debt. I really hope I don't make it big in poker and come across people like this, I dont know what I would do.

And if you're stupid enough to assault someone over a £50 debt then I don't think you need to worry about making it big in the poker world.

Yeah if you let that £50 debt slide and hadn't been done for assault people may not realise your a complete idiot and probably would have given you a degree of respect.

He doesn't owe OP anything , it's generous of him to make this gesture for the sake of their friendship. Now OP is throwing toys out of the cot. Wouldn't be surprised if OP never sees a dollar of the money he's supposedly owed.

Because he has such a history of benevolent goodwill I am sure

That is what many people have been saying for years about the money Marc stole from them

Lets summarize his benevolent ways since at least Aug 2010 that I could find:

*Note: It appears he has made payback on majority of these individual items

  • Scammed $2K from Jymaster0011 from uncompleted Pokerstars Swap (paid back)
  • Scammed $1.5K from Allinwithdabest from uncompleted Pokerstars Swap
(note Marc stated "misunderstanding, truth will be on here momentarily" Kinda like he didn't trade 5% right? He also lied and claimed he was hacked on AIM, tried to have P5s thread removed and account deleted)
  • Scammed $2K by saying he did Bank Transfer that never came
  • Scammed $3.2K from chaz_man_chaz from what appears to be fradulent Swaps
  • Scammed $500 in Full Tilt Swap
  • In one post from 2010: Those who have told me this afternoon they are owed is at 11 people who are owed money totalling around $40k (from scamming/grimming)
  • Scammed $1.4K by getting supfoolio to send him money on FTP/PS
  • Scammed £1k, by Sending only £2k of £3k owned to skolsuper
  • Scammed $5K from xxCelticFCxx who sent him money online
  • Scammed iamsmartSMRT an undisclosed (large) amount of money doing Pound/Dollar Swaps (paid the "majority" of it back when he chopped Sunday Millions)
  • Owed Salamander $2.3K (unknown transactions) then deleted him on facebook and on MSN (paid back over 2 year period)
  • Scammed $1.5K from discomonkey in undisclosed transaction (paid back 2011)
  • Owed $15K to 810ofclubs in undisclosed transaction as of May 30, 2011
  • Scammed $2K from TheSquid (paid back and apologized)
  • "Hustled" $5K from friend of Rebuy Roope
  • Marc i really don't care much about what's happened but you owe a friend of mine some money, she is not a poker player, she can not afford to go without this money for as long as the tournament regs, i hope you do the right thing and get her money back to her ASAP. It's not a lot but its a lot to her.
  • the reason Marc lives in Cornwall is because he screwed a lot of people over where he lived previously and moved away with his brother. He stole from his friends/family too some ago.

Amazing work WEC. This is clearly serial fraud. I think the police would be very interested.

Oh, hi Marc.
07-15-2012 , 05:50 AM
So he repaid all those debts in one go, like going to court after being nicked red handed on a burglary, and asking to have 15 others taken in to account, or is this list more like a diary of events uncovered so far?

If it's the first maybe he deserves a chance, very weak maybe, if it's the second, the how on earth is he still walking?

He was outed in August 2010 in threads over at least 3 forums. That is when many of these items became known, and I am sure many did not come forward hoping to get paid back first/quicker or paid at all. Over time, he has slowly paid back what was owed, starting with some payments about Nov/Dec 2010 up until today.
07-15-2012 , 08:07 AM
So he paid ppl back with stolen money.

Ask Daryl Keener how much jail time he got for a bank robbing spree ... 1200+ years. Bam

I hope this scum is shaking in his boots

The fact that he's still getting away with it, along with the post by WEC summising the # of times he's scammed and for how much, are both incredible. (and those are only the ones we know about. great work WEC.)

Tried seeing why he was still getting so much support, from a bunch of the Sky Poker lot, but my post in their forums got deleted pretty quickly to which i received a message back containing this:

"....whatever Marc Wright has done in the past is of no concern to what Sky Poker are trying to achieve and we decided as a team to keep the threads about Marc Wright off the Sky poker forum."

Pretty shocking imho. Not even sure how they can take this stance, from both a moral or more 'importantly' business orientated PoV.

This is not a highly intelligent post given his history of scams. It's unlikely the guy believed they traded 5% without actually having traded 5%.

You probably shouldn't make posts like this if you don't know for certain what you're talking about, which you don't in this situation. It's kind of sickening you're painting a scammer out to be some sort of "good guy greg", when you don't know what you're talking about and we have chat logs saying he owes money.

If those chat logs didn't exist this would be another scam he probably gets away with. Disgusting post.

Wow......unbelievable.....well perhaps Ray Bitar and Howard Lederer et al DO have some outs in the online world if this is the stance Sky Poker takes on known scammers!
07-15-2012 , 03:03 PM
Oh yeah nearly forgot, nice work WEC

Does not surprise me at all . Used to play there many years ago and at the time it had a great community and forum . Now it's censored to **** and sterile . Just reading the forum rules will give you some idea.
It's not the first thing that has been swept under the carpet there and won't be the last.
07-15-2012 , 03:23 PM
I still play on sky to play PLO+hi/lo but agree the forum has become such a joke they should be embarrassed.

Just a bunch of sad nerdy ****ing losers who think sky can do no wrong and will constantly suck up to them.

The community used to be great on there 4 years ago. Load of **** now, the fact this scumbag Marc Wright is now representing them is just so perfect it's unbelievable. Short of Howard Lederer or Hitler they couldn't have got a more perfect match.

does it matter how he got it? The site is full of ****s and they are being represented by a ****.

Why would I expect them to stop him playing?

Give the guy his $10k seat in cash and either give the seat to the satty 'bubble boy/girl' or to someone who will represent the site better than Marc. Be it a sponsored pro on the site or heck, just re-schedule another satellite.

I see no-one trolling here but you. Oh, and fwiw, talking down to and being condescending towards someone only makes you look like the fool, no-one else.

Pretty much any other outcome other than giving Marc the seat would've been better than letting him wear the patch.

P.s. Oh hai Marc <3

I really want to know how all this "would of," "could of," "should of" nonsense became so pervasive. If English is your first language, it's like you dropped out of school after 2nd grade. Shows an incredible lack of understanding of basic sentence structure.

Maybe it's not in their rules that they can take a seat off someone that won a sat. Even if he turns out to be a scammer.

And Sky poker is pretty small so any publicity is good publicity for them.
