I played at the Encore in Boston when I was in town for a week a couple years ago and found the games to be a lot of action. I don’t remember this Marc character (was playing mainly PLO).

I know some guys have said Marc is in tight with the floor/staff, but I’d encourage the locals who are seeing this thread to spread the word around the room and show the staff this thread. They shouldn’t allow a player/predator like this to take advantage of their customers.

As a rec player, if I felt like I got angled I wouldn’t return to the game, so it can’t be good for business to have a known scammer playing their tables

Long time Mohegan reg here who has played with just about everyone named/involved ITT. I have nothing to add other than to say this all so hilarious and ridiculous. I would never do business with a stranger from the poker room just because they are a reg and seem friendly. LOL at thinking poker players are reputable, dependable etc.

In late 2018 I was treading water in a short handed 5/10NL game at Mohegan. It was basically 4 “pros” myself and Marc. Prior to this I had some history playing 2/5 NL with Marc at various New England card rooms. We were never friendly or friends. I found him to be a squirrely arrogant type of guy, but had never witness anything really out of line or angling or whatever. Probably a sample size of like 25-30 hours. He’s not even a bad player. He’s probably ok but sometimes sucks but then sometimes plays tag and has like a little itty bitty poker bankroll which is somehow cool even now. Whatever, he’s a pro

Anywho, I was invovled in a heads up pot where we were roughly 3k effective. There was maybe like 800 in the pot heading to the turn and the board was something like J966. I think I raised utg and he 3b me from LP. Chk bet call, on the turn he bet $500 in greens, I jammed for like 2300 on top. He thinks for a minute then flicks in one single $500 chip and about one second or two after he tossed in the chips he grabs his $500 in greens that he already pushed forward counts them out and then pulls them back. Two other players, looked at the dealer and Marc like wtf, and Marc claimed he was just “making change”. I was sitting there, bluffing with absolutely nothing, trying to remain calm. He eventually ends up folding. In the moment, I was quite confident he was angling me into tabling my hand and free rolling me.

This guy a low life run down dirty ruthless Vato. Fast forward to a year later he gets invited to a home game Ive been playing in regularly in the providence area. DonÂ’t even get me started on the guy who runs in. OG party poker crusher.. Long story short he ended up running up a low five figure tab and took about 4 months to make the host whole after going busto in two sessions

I saw Marc Evanier at a grocery store in Connecticut a few years ago. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for angle tips or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Seems like he gave you a free roll. After he folds you can call the floor over if you have value, say nothing if you’re bluffing.
