Major Slots Provider Playtech Adds Ultimate Bet/Absolute "FraudFirm" iovation Major Slots Provider Playtech Adds Ultimate Bet/Absolute "FraudFirm" iovation

According to a press release published on CalvinAyre a few minutes ago, one of the world's major online slot suppliers, Playtech, has "has agreed to a strategic partnership with iovation, a TransUnion company, to bring its industry-leading FraudForce technology to Playtech operators."

iovation is the bastard child of Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, as detailed in the feature-length documentary, Ultimate Beat, and other extensive media reporting over the last ten years.

Haley Hintz has documented more of the connections here:
Part One
Part Two

After receiving widespread consumer criticism, companies such as the online payment processor, PayPal, and former Nevada online poker site, Ultimate Poker (no relationship to Ultimate Bet), jettisoned relationships with iovation.

Bottom line:If you play on an online poker site with PlayTech slots, you may be at risk of having Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker associates gain access to sensitive security information about yourself, and the devices that you use to access those sites.

To reduce the risk of association with these fraudsters, you should consider contacting your online poker sites with this sample email:

Hello,

I am a customer at your site with concerns about security and privacy.

Do you have any relationship with iovation? Do you use any iovation software products?

Do you have any indirect relationship with iovation, or their "strategic partner", Playtech? Do you use Playtech software? Do any of your software suppliers use iovation?

If you do not use any iovation software currently, can you commit to inform me before implementing any iovation software in the future?

Sincerely,
<your name here>

Just don't store more money at poker sites than what you really need for a smooth session... Playtech slots are omnipresent.

Indeed, Iovation still has the following people still atop its "Leadership Team" page:

Greg Pierson - CEO and Co-Founder
Jon Karl - EVP, Corporate Development and Co-Founder
Molly O'Hearn - EVP, Operations and Co-Founder

The links to Haley's 2016 articles detail each person's respective role in UB/ieLogic/Iovation/Excapsa, etc.

It's funny, since Russ Hamilton has long been excoriated as the mastermind behind the UB scandal. If he ran some company that continued to work with online gaming today, the poker community would never stop talking about it. Yet Pierson and Karl were arguably the Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky of the UB operation, with Hamilton being some lower-level goon.

Transunion, which is an omnipresent credit reporting agency, purchased iovation.

What's more, iovation was apparently granted a service providers' license in Nevada:

It's a little late to close the barn door on the company, as such. Is the idea to spook Transunion into jettisoning the old management ?

Otoh, if your alarm is about Transunion knowing about you, they most likely already have your Steele Dossier.

Far more relevant to present day poker players is the apparent claim that through iovation, Transunion can detect VPNing:

"In approximately 100 milliseconds, Iovation can recognise the device, determine if it is evading detection, "
