Bro, if you must know the 3 neiman marcus styes were sold to a Costa Rican player, the 1st one I won I had to hock to a friend for a dime, 1K (I can get it back, Halleluah). So believe me Mike Hart knows what falling on hard times is like. Thats been my prob, no capitalization since 1995. Now I am completely embarressed, JK, you don't invest your money and you can have a tough time. To all you youngbloods, take this for what its worth, MAKE a mule out of your money, like Puggy Pearson used to say.

"Saved the best for last. Play your own tournament! That's right, your own little event that starts and ends when you want. You are the tournament director and can play any form of poker you'd like. Sit in the smallest game you can find. The rounds are 20, 30, 40 minutes, anything you want, so set an alarm clock. When the clock goes off, you must get up and move to the next highest game. Keep going and see how much you can accumulate and how far you can go. Get to the biggest game and you win the trophy. Of course, in this tournament, you can quit at any time and cash in your checkers. Good Luck! By the way, I know a guy who ran up a $100 buy-in into $17,000 one night at the Taj. How cool is that!"

This is hilarious from start to finish.

He won a million 20 years ago. According to this website that is anywhere between 1.6MM and 2.5MM in today's money (depending on the index used) http://www.measuringworth.com/uscomp...ar_result=2012

Plenty of people have ended up low on funds/broke with much bigger bankrolls over this period of time. A few people have said how it is sad, but I don't really think it is that big a deal.

You guys need to crawl out of the basement and check into the real world. Just one time would be nice.
It's funny because you could've come out and just given your opinion, including fact-based opinion, of what truly takes place at most auctions in an informative way.

Instead what anyone will remember from your post is that you're a huge douchebag...

theres a huge difference between falling on hard time (ie getting sick, losing a job when its not your fault, spouse dying when they brought in a lot of income etc) and being a degenerate gambler like TJ and Eskimo and pissing their poker winnings away on nonsense.

(Just hope not too soon, I'm 59). I agree with you bro, there needs to be a book written, and the man to do it is The Living Legend himself, Doyle Brunson. I'm gonna try and get to Doyle and talk to him about it.
FWIW, Keller is a part of the epic Mo Ibrahim story. According to legend Ibrahim beat him out of $1m heads up in Tunica and then immediately lost it playing blackjack.

In the responses I have only seen one ME bracelet listed as previously being sold. Did not realize they came on the market so infrequently. No wonder that one went for 150K. I am guessing that some have changed hands privately over the years.

I have a hard time when people get on Eskimo and TJ because of their gambling. Do you know for a fact that they lost it all gambling? Why is it ok for Phil Ivey to blow millions on craps, golf, etc? Let's face it every top player for the past 50 years has had some kind of gambling leak. That is also why they climb up the ladder to the big games. To each his own....some blow their money on expensive cars, wine, coke, partying, etc....some blow it gambling. It's their money to do what they want.

His website says its for charity, which I think is lol, cuz its obviously not.

I won a ME seat at empire poker and he spoke before the tourny, he talked about how he quit playing live when they introduced the hole cams because he didnt want people to be able to figure out his winning play, which I found pretty funny for multiple reasons, but mainly because it just seemed pretty obvious he was trying to justify why no one had heard of him. "yeah, id be big time famous but quit playing".

Other than that he seemed like a nice enough guy, and was pretty patient with the insanely stupid poker questions that were asked.

Your welcome bro. Its no shame going broke, just staying broke. I hope other players will hear this and invest and be smart with their money. Hopefully 4 more months to go b4 I can sell shares and finally get back into the tournaments, even if I'm only playing for 20%. GL, bro

Bro, I'm not familiar with that story, tell us 2+2ers about it. If Mo is Mohammad Ibrahim, I played with that guy at the Oceanside Card Casino. He played extremely fast and liberally. If you checked the flop to him, he bet 95%-100% of the time. This might not be the same guy. The Mo I knew (not well), lost all his BR and moved back to the Middle East (Egypt I think). It sounds like a good story, so please tell it to us 2+2ers.

Thanks for the link brother, thats a heck of a run he was on, till the black Jack got in his way. Guys and gals, make sure you fast forward to the 2 hour 1 minute mark of the radiocast to get to the part about Mo Ibrahim. Its sad, but interesting as heck. TY again Moneyline for posting this legendary poker story!
