Brads braclet, for those not aware, is the old, initial, type. Heavier and , to me much more valuable. doc earle
I would say most poker players don't care at all about some bracelets, or if some player wears a bracelet.

Thanks brother, whenever I see one of the old timers, I try to relate all the firsthand info I know about them to educate, in a truthful way, the younger players as to the impact the player had on our game. The sad thing is that most of these old time players are gone forever. We do have Doyle, and I would advise all the younger players to pick Doyles mind about all the players he knew, including the ones he knew when he first started his career. Doyles the only player left (I think Amarillo Slim is alive also, not sure tho) that knows and played with most of the hall of fame inductees. I wish Doyle would write a book about the Hall of Fame inductees. TY again and GL

lmao. This was one of the most brilliant/hilarious HH's I have ever read.

The listing says it is 96 grams, there are about 31 grams per oz, it is 14k gold so

(14/24)*(96/31)= 1.80 oz of pure gold, at 1500 per oz = $2710 of gold melt value.

You should have taken the 30K Brad. That was a DAMN good price for the bracelet. The ones they give now, if you win the big one are gawdy as hell, but way more expensive than your "91" bracelet.

Bro, I was born Michael Ivan Hart, thru divorce and adoption, my adopted name became Mike Harthcock. I moved down to Florida in 1970 where I was around all my blood relatives and my biological dad Edward J. Hart. My father was one of the best poker players down in Winter Haven, Florida ( This was also 3X WSOP champ and 2 time ME runner up Dewey Tomko's residence and also 3x WSOP champ Hilbert Shirey's home town). I picked up the game myself from family games, and played in the game Tomko ran for over 15 years. When my biological dad died in 1985 of a massive heart attack, and my son Ryan was born in 1987, I wanted my son and daugther Courtney to have their real blood name, so I legally changed my name back to Hart. Your right tho amigo, when I came in 2nd, my last name was Harthcock. Thanks for the compliment about my posts, I try. I would say Hal Fowler is the least know ME winner, because he disapeared and never returned to Vegas, and was never heard from again. Doyle Brunson did some detective work, and found out Fowler got sick and was hospitalized for a long time, and he (Fowler) instructed everyone not to tell where he was, then he passed away. He gutted a straight against Bobby "The Wizard" Hoff who held AA to win the championship, not positive what year it was. I think it was around 80 or 81. CYA later and GL amigo. Its tough for the young players to know the past champs, coz they've all gone down for the dirt nap.

Wow, thanks for posting, and congrats on all your success. If I ever see Doyle I will ask him about the old days, knowing about history is always fun and very useful.

Checked em out real quick. The one I love is the autographed picture of the past champs. I knew all of em. Sailor Roberts died not to long after this pix was taken. I was at this tourney that year, The Diamond Jim Brady tournament, now its called the Legends tornament. When it was the Diamond Jim Brady tournament it was the 3rd/4th biggest tournament in the world. It was a great tournament, b4 they started having other tourneys every month, and now every 2 weeks. Thanks again, bro

C'mon, you guys need to get real. Nobody bid 30K. It was simply SHILL BIDDING. You see it in almost every auction, that is why it is good business to not bid into too many of them.

No human being bid 30K with the intention of paying, that is for sure. Of course, as it always happens, the bid falls just under the reserve, or if the shill bidder is bold enough, he ends up winning the auction, then refuses to pay.

You guys need to crawl out of the basement and check into the real world. Just one time would be nice.

lol I noticed that too, he also goes on to mention that the 5 on the turn gave him a faint hope, as if he didnt have any outs to win on the flop. Also I think 20% is more than a "faint hope." its not like he had to catch a one or two outer.

PJ1, most of us know of Hal Fowler because of the story that goes with him. He played the FT intoxicated, ran super hot, took the money and ran. Unfortunately you hear a lot less about guys like Bill Smith and Jack Keller. I dunno if there's a good book out there chronicling the history of the WSOP, but there should be.
