Were diamonds standard on all bracelets in 2006?

Not standard nowadays even for 5K events.

The seller also offers Phil Hellmuth memorabilia like press passes. I don't see how any poker aficionado can go without.

Chapter 8 of Des Wilson's 2008 book, "Ghosts at the Table: Riverboat Gamblers, Texas Rounders, Roadside Hucksters, and the Living Legends Who Made Poker What It Is Today", is about the author's hunt for Hal Fowler, who had passed away in 2000 while living at a senior citizen's residence in California.

You, Mike Hart, are the Hal Fowler of Main Event runners-up. The internet doesn't even know where or when you were born (I think 1951, but more specifically?).

Even more amazingly, I couldn't find a single photo of you (on web pages, in Poker Player newspaper back issues, or in local newpaper archives; alas, the 1986 Main Event had no television coverage either). Would love to see then-and-now pics...

"Jen the Obscure",the little known poker novel by Thomas Hardy, was a big seller in its day, which was 1895.

The novel tells the story of Robert Jen, who lives in a village in southern England (part of Hardy's fictional county of Wessex), who yearns to be a poker history scholar at "NVG", a forum hosted on Two Plus Two.

Welcome to NVG, and a classic 1st post.

Thanks for the welcome. Your fiction is remarkably close to reality as I am an obscure poker software developer and writer from *sex county in southern New England.

Anyway, I thought it was worth a shot even though Hart hasn't posted here in five years.

If anyone knows how to contact Mike Hart or can ping him for me, it would be most appreciated.

You wrote this in 2011. You could be dead by now (2018). I hope not so that you can continue to make posts here. This is one of the best historical threads of all time because of you, Mike Hart (a.k.a. "PokerJuice1").

Doyle is still alive today (2018). Long live Doyle!

I could see wearing one as a reminder to oneself that no matter how cool you are in the moment, selling your stuff on ebay is a bad decision away.
