So I just came across this as I am expecting to get the Samsung Gear VR for Christmas and have been looking for what apps I should download.

Any chance this becomes something? I mean it is just play money at launch, but could be an interesting experience if it goes real money I guess.

I think the future of VR is very bright, I've talked to people who have experienced VR at the latest development phases and they were blown away. It's application potential from poker to porno to advanced medical training is certain!

while there's definitely a big market for VR games, i somehow doubt, that it will conquer the gambling world (within the 1st or 2nd wave of VR). i remember when PKR popped up and a friend of mine was 100% sure, that this is the future of online poker. casino grinders might even less interested in VR, since they want fast action and not a perfect ambience. perfect example is the ultra fast growing mobile market.

VR certainly will continue to grow, still in infancy.

Egames is exploding.

VR for Egames... hmmm most likely, actually quite a bit of potential now that I think about it.

VR for poker... don't waste your money. never be able to monetize investment.

plus online poker apparently confirmed dead. See: NVG.

plus about a hundred markets innovators in VR space would attack before poker/online gaming
