Lock is Leaving Merge and Purchasing Cake - Page 5 - Poker News

My speculation is that it will probably drop less than people think but it could get a little tougher because good players on Lock will probably open up accounts on different skins and play on both sites. I think most of the recreational players will probably just play on Lock still.

there is a lot more to be done, for Revolution to become competitive with Merge, and in the SR many of Lock's astute players will simply move to another Merge skin if they haven't done so already. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if we'll see some extra incentives being offered to this group by the current Merge skins that are represented here on 2p2.

Revolution network will be offering 36% dealt rakeback to all it's players. The current VIP program on Merge for the casual player is absolute garbage. Those players that were grandfathered into 35% contributed, myself included, would much rather go the dealt route anyways.

This combined with a reasonably sized player pool, new software updates, better tournament structures, and whatever other promotions they decide to offer will surely make revolution a success.

My guess to that is that many players who were going to buy in for the bigger tourneys just made a lock account because that was the site that they could actually get money off of quickly if they one.

I think the quote that you probably read early was something to the effect of we provided 60 percent of the buy ins to the Maximus.

Not a dumb question at all imo, were all US players allowed on cake or did they have some states blocked out as well? I'm not sure anyone not on the inside can answer with certainty at this time how Revolution will sit on players from the very anti-poker states. The decision to block certain states was made by the Merge network as a whole, the skins had no way to go against it once the network had set the rule. I could easily see it going either way.

RPM is the only skin to announce this so far, but I think Seth said it was network wide.

And yes, existing accounts can switch from VIP to rakeback.

I have PMed the lock reps on here but have not gotten a response yet. In regards to the Utah block is that just for new players signing up or does that even include existing Utah players that already have an account open. Would really like to get some clarification on this so I can sell my roll if my account is going to get locked up at the switch over.
