When I try to sign up on Lock or any other Merge skin it says that my state is not currently supported. Earlier today I successfully signed up for a real money account on Cake. Although I haven't tried to put money on me Cake acct., I assume that I can. When this switch happens. Will I be able to sign up on Locks site or will I just be able to use my Cake acct.

Will this "new site" accept players from my state (KY) I guess is my question.

I'm still waiting on my bank transfer from Lock from 2/29. They have the worst customer support I've ever come across. They told me on 5/2 that they changed that bank transfer to a Western Union and if I didn't get my info within 2 days to contact them. I've sent them 5 emails since then to let them know I haven't received anything and no response to any of those emails.

Your experience with their customer support seems to be widely accepted as standard for Lock, unfortunately. I realize that handling cashouts in the US is tricky these days, but personally I find it infuriating to be repeatedly blown off and lied to, and for that reason I would never consider joining Lock. I also checked out the Cake software the other day out of curiosity and its just god-awful. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I suspect Merge will be just fine.

Actually, I think your problem might well be with the KY residence. Can't remember which site, but there were 5-6 states which the site wouldn't accept from.

Lock has been great for me, all of my cashouts took less than 72 hours (WU in US) and always respond to e-mails within 48 hours. I will stay with them if the cashouts continue to come in a timely manner. I'm very excited for the new promotions and the potential to get a higher % of rakeback. Cakes software is more memory intensive like bovadas software, but it's not all that bad. As long as I can run 12+ tables smoothly they've got me as a loyal grinder.

Yeah, Merge won't accept players from my state. Cake will. My question is if Lock/Cake will accept people from my state when the merge.

There's a thread about this in the Lock subforum, I think the Lock rep said they havent made a final decision on the restricted state issue yet.

How possibly could anyone know if this is good or not until we see how it plays out, and they are creating a new network, it's called revolution poker. It includes Lock, cake, and allt he other cake skins (Redstar, intertops Colt45 etc etc etc)

Not a great argument.

Is there any possibility that you will not be able to open Lock while grinding on Merge post Lock/Cake merger? I realize Lock will no longer be on the network but I forsee issues in the beginnings of the seperation.

Yes. Lock is buying Cake and rebranding the network as Revolution Gaming.

where is the smart money? on lock or merge?
Im worried keeping my money on lock as they go through this transitional period, who knows if my money will be worth monopoly money in a months time.

Thoughts? Think a switch to another Merge skin is wise?

Smart money hedges between the two.

It's been awhile, but wasn't Lock formerly a Cake skin? Then they left for Merge and now they've come back to buy Cake?! Lulz. Crazy.

lock needs to utilize cake 1.0's software if they are taking it over. the cake 2.0 lobby, table, buttons, its all a mess compared to cake 1.0's software

The smart money would be to have min rolls on Merge, Revolution, and Bovada. Grind where it's max EV, and cash out whenever possible. Nobody knows or can even speculate with any relevant certainty which site or if all of them will get shut down next.

imo

Taking my money off of lock immediately. Not trusting anything to do with cake even with 1 dollar.

Ok, Ill rephrase. I will not trust anything that at any point in its exsitance ever had anything to do with cake or formerly existed as cake itself.

Better?

OK, let me see if I got it> you trust Lock and have money with them. You do not trust Cake. So, if Lock takes over Cake you will no linger trust Lock. Is that it?
I guess if PokerStars buys Fulltilt you will no longer trust PokerStars either
