To set the record straight once and for all, you clearly challenged anybody and even said your GF would be able to crush "us."

I suggest you stop defending your intention because you worded your thoughts poorly and now you have a game.

FWIW, I actually understand that you're swamped dealing with the market and your positions right now. You already stated you were focusing on day trading and it's not exactly the easiest market to trade. That being said, it's pretty clear that samo is ready to play and obviously everyone in this thread wants to see it happen. So just define the terms of the match now and wait for the market to die down a little to play.

As for people bashing Gabe for putting this off due to the state of the market right now, that's as delusional as most of his posts. If he has any kind of significant position he's making and losing the amount at risk in this match every day.

Let the market calm down first to where it's not moving 5% every day before you start bashing him about not playing the match.

Gabe, like I said, if you simply take 10-15 minutes to think about the small details of the match to be ironed out and define those, that would be a good start. It sounds like after that is done, Samo is ready to fly out and play you at the drop of a hat.
What you fail to realize is, he is NOT swamped with dealing with the markets. He wasn't swamped with the markets when he was out here in LV for 4+ weeks this summer. He is, at MOST playing the market a bit, and there is little to no chance he is playing the market at numbers that swamp the 24k+ in EV he stands to make for 10-20 hours of poker, as well as standing in the poker community he could gain, (or regain). As he said, he is playing poker at the casino almost every night already, (even though he doesn't trust casinos), so just playing Samo instead would hardly even change his routine. So quit trying to make excuses for him. He is a blowhard, little more.

Gabe "All Talk" Costner.

The irony to the new challenge, of course, is that the original thread was originally to debate if the top ten online players were worse than the top ten live players, while playing live, due to live player advantage in reading tells (leaving aside the lolness of separating the two for elite players, since even if elite live players don't want to play online due to riggaments, most if not all top online pros eventually play some live).

We already know Gabe considers himself a top ten live player - I'm fairly positive that no one posting in response has claimed to be a top ten live or online players.

So really, Gabe, by opening up his challenge (which wasn't really a challenge before, you know, it was just a statement that he could beat online player anytime) is now trying to lure microstakes online NVG donks into playing far above their bankroll just to prove how badass he is. It would be like stealing candy from NVG babies. And that's just wrong.

For shame, Gabe. For shame.

is it fair to take this one as a literal challenge?

I rather think the guy claiming that he's better than every online player and issuing open challenges to the entire poker world should be the one getting on aeroplanes to meet challengers, not saying 'I can beat anyone but you have to come to my podunk little casino'. If I claim I'm the best boxer in the world, but insist that world class heavyweights turn up to my backyard to fight, it's not exactly convincing.

No, the phrase 'I challenge anyone' has no literal meaning, it's just an expression dude, not an actual challenge.

the 2p2 community is more than happy, and in fact i believe salivating, at the fact that gabe 'all talk' costner might play samo if he flies to him. let's just be happy at that if it happens.

edit: not saying that anything you said is contrary to anything i say/said

that podunk casino has all the best poker players in the world, you need to show some respect.

Just an update: Gabe did send me a private message on 8-11 asking when I wanted to come and play. I responded immediately and suggested a four day window in the first week of September and indicated that I would reserve a flight if he agreed to that timeframe. He has not responded since.

It was never in jepardy. The match was going to happen from the 1st time we agreed upon.

Some of you just fell victim to the NVG (ALL TALK) Tards.

I imagine before this is all over, Not only will Daliman be eating his words for coming up with this stupid nickname, I imagine he'll be eating crow at some point when Claudia finally kicks his ass.

I'm fairly certain if you look through the posts that you'll find that I never a) said I was convinced it wasn't going to happen or b) referred to you by the nickname.

I believe you overestimate your abilities but if you are willing to put your money where your mouth is then good on you, says me.

Your continued insistence in painting everyone in this thread with the same brush (including samo, who has been persistent but absolutely nothing but polite) is sloppy and illogical.

But, in all seriousness, best of luck in the match-up.

looking forward to this. all the best Gabe.

is it official enough yet to start throwing out betting lines? i'd like to put up 1k to someone's 750 on samo if the parameters of the match have not changed.

I can't wait to see this. Might as well start setting the match up now. Or... was this a non-challenge, too?

When the match is finished I'll challenge Gabe to a Spelling Bee for 40k too. I reckon online Spelling Bee players are far better than Live ones.

For the challenge I won't wear a hoodie or sunglasses.

Hmm...now that this is an open challenge, didn't FoxwoodsFiend mention that he'd like to play EDD as well?

And Dali, since you talked so much ****, the least you could do would probably be to fly there and make an easy 40k playing Gabe's girlfriend.
