That would be Cornell Fiji. He started this staking discussion thread. Now I know that he disappeared off the face of 2+2 but what did he do exactly that has everyone hating him so much? Is there a link to the scam/scandal? I had heard that Cornell Fiji is actually Russ Hamilton but don't know if that is true.

Im not going to search around for the thread, basically the cliffs were (IIUC)

1. Cornell fiji, at the time a very well respected mod who did a ton of work on the AP/UB scandal did a trade with Admo for some large amount of money.

2. Admo sent first, but Instead of sending admo the money, CF he went to boby's room and degened it away.

3. When Admo tried initially to post about it, CF ninja deleted the posts.

4. Admo was eventually paid, but in the interim hired an attorney -- an expense for which he felt he should be reimbursed but never was.

Cornell is not russ hamilton -- his real name is steven ware

Didnt see this till now. Mark teltscher won the wcoop main event one year (2007) under the account "Thev0id" . Unfortunately for him he was found to have masses of entrys in the tournamnt, like double figures worth and his win was disqualified by stars. They moved everyone else up 1 place in the money and gave the win to the 2nd place finisher.

I know everyone hates it now, but at the time MAing was pretty much 100% standard, and even encouraged by "skinned" rooms like party/empire/coral/intertops and on and on. JJP and Zeejustin are "infamous" in this regard for one reason -- the online rooms decided to crack down and make an example of them.

I am not saying that they were in the right -- just that they wee going by what were, at the time, generally accepted standards of conduct.

Planet Poker had a predictable board generator some time ~10 years ago. It was more of a minor scandal that legitimized rigtard thinking than a scam or hustle though.

Panzi scheme????. LOL! Do you mean Ponzi Scheme? It's actually named after a guy name Charles Ponzi.

Do people really think that Full Tilt Poker was some kind of a scam? I always played on PokerStars and I know they let people withdraw their money eventually after Black Friday.

It's not like Full Tilt's issues were top secret. They took forever to let people withdraw (but it still got to us eventually), and we all knew they were fronting huge sums of money to American players. I'm pretty certain that if the DoJ hadn't closed in, it would be business as usual (after all, doesn't look like they ever kept that much cash on hand anyway, so it's not like they would make off with a ton at the very end): same reliable software, lousy customer service, and slow cashouts.
