I thought lex was good friends with negreanu, some of the examples he gives as to what he doesnt like, screams of dn character.

Ofc AE is acting plainly pathetic, so obviously overcompensating, now that he has success, that he has become a travesty of a personality.

I guess that Lex likely had a normal, nice childhood. Having friends and gf's, doing sport and party etc, so he has a very hard time to understand the dysfunctions in AE's behaviour.

Please be nice to the mentally impaired, Lex
I remember in an interview after the One Drop in 2012 (I think it was a radio interview, probably somewhere on Youtube), Antonio said he got into magic to impress girls because he was utterly hopeless with them. However, in that same interview, he said he lost his virginity at 14. So it didn't quite add up.

What you say definitely makes sense. The typical unpopular nerd with no friends who got badly bullied at school, then turns to bullying others in adulthood once he gains fame and riches.

It probably was tough for him. Let's face it, the average American is a moron and he was the Iranian kid named Amir. But still, high school ends and you don't need to shove your fame into everyone's face just because teenagers are stupid.

I have been in bed since the bust- literally the worst"

I remember this vividly, as probably the worst moment in poker history.

Agreed with a lot of what has been said already:

1. AE has a magnificent throbbing ego
2. LV's ego was torn apart by AE's sheer size
3. LV wants to repair damage to his own ego by fighting AE in a winner take all public display of manhood.

U can get girls pretty much anywhere as well so point is invalid.

Unless of course a 400$ bottle makes u more of a man than u actually are which amuses me actually that i think about it

Yeah that would have been some sick call. He would have been flipping vs Galfond and Galfond had the worst hand he could have. Not too mention DN practically jumped out of his seat when Galfond shoved. I guess he couldn't feel his energy

It's interesting to me that all Lex took away from the dinner offer encounter was how terrible and entitled he felt Antonio was, and then has let that fester for years so that he feels he needs to bring it up 6 years later. Wow. You have to have quite an ego to carry such a silly perceived slight around with you for so long. Seems to me he missed the fact that a well known poker pro was generous and considerate enough to offer To invite Lex to a dinner with him and another poker pro and his movie star gf in the first place. Seems like a very nice gesture to me.

So who is really the one with the outsized ego and sense of entitlement?

sure it's integrity to say you've carried around a 6 year butthurt when you have, in fact, carried around a 6 year old butthurt, but my point was to why he was so butthurt in the first place.

And integrity isn't really the issue anyway. We aren't talking about him lying and saying he loves Antonio. It's about having the maturity to understand that having integrity doesn't preclude someone from keeping private things private. No one has the requirement to air personal feelings on public media. Obviously, Lex wanted to do so, or he wouldn't have done so. He could have chosen to simply answer the question by saying something like "you know, that's a personal issue between myself and Antonio, and I don't think it is appropriate to discuss it here". But instead, he relished the opportunity to spill his guts and let out all the butthurt he has been carrying around all this time over such a meaningless perceived attack on his ego. Thus the enthusiastic "**** that guy!" when he was retelling the story.
