After reading a post in NVG, I thought of this idea. BTW, people would still be earning VPPs so they don't fall behind in their nova elite quest. :/


When I was thinking about grinding for good, I was thinking along the lines of just grinding out hands. How bout if one weekend on Stars, all the fpps that you would accumulate would go to a certain charity. Stars could charge their usual 62,000 fpps to 1K and donate it to charity but on a huge scale. On top of this, Stars might consider putting up a % of the rake earned over that weekend to the same charity as a bonus. I would think this could work well and can easily be set up. This way people don't have to worry about swongs or anything cause the players basically are just giving up their weekend rakeback. Thoughts?

How much do you guys think this could make in a 48 hour period?

it would definitely make a lot of money but i think the problem would be getting everyone to agree to it. or if stars does it without everyone agreeing to it some people might just move over to full tilt and play there for the weekend

I think most people would like the choice about when/where/which charity they give to...

In saying that, someone suggested a while ago that you should be able to use FPP's to donate to a charity. I'm a huge fan of this idea.

Stars could track and publish the amount being donated and it would be great PR for online poker.

wouldnt it make more sense to just have a few charity tables at each level and donate the rake made -the value of points earned on the table to said charity. Shouldn't take too much out of their bottom line if they limited it to one or two tables per limit, and they could name each table for whatever chairty its benefiting, so players can know who they are supporting.
